Maybe the amulet magically doubles the VALUE of your rewards and not the actual PAY

Since you mentioned it, I honestly don't get how a shiny coin does something like that. It's like if you're trying to get a raise because of your super expensive ring.

Or maybe the Amulet Coin is a mind-control device that hypnotizes your opponent into paying you more than normal.

I have a feeling in real life everyone would carry aΒ pokΓ©mon with thief or knock off on them just to prevent this.Β
Actually wait a second, if a CPU opponent uses thief on your pokΓ©mon and takes its amulet coin then whites you out do you have to pay them extra?
Also, I can just picture someone starting a court case because their opponent refused to pay extra for the amulet coin.Β

HUANGXUELI In reply to ??? [2014-09-21 14:29:16 +0000 UTC]
Aww that's just cruel.
I actually imagine the amulet coin duplicating the money by itself, either that or the PokΓ©mon hides it (cuz it's not seen in the overworld sprite) but somehow it gives off a charisma to the opponent, making them give more money, intentionally or subconsciously.

The real question is where the money comes from. The only source of income for trainers seems to be trainer battles.

Pokirby In reply to missael111796 [2014-08-15 07:37:58 +0000 UTC]
I always thought it was a rule. Anything without rules can lead to chaos, and since some people (in the pokemon universe, that is) even use pokemon battling as a profession, it only makes sense that there'd be rules, like having to pay the winner of the battle, or it being against the rules to run from a fight.

I always thought the amulet coin was a magical artifact that literally doubled the money. As in, the trainer gives you 2 pokebucks, but the amulets magic creates a copy of those 2 pokebucks for a total of 4.
Of course, this would send the economy to hell in a handbasket but the pokemon world's economy doesn't make much sense in the first place, so...
