At least the Japanese one is like White Blood Relative or Dark Blood in the Japanese version. Β But then again the relationship of Corrin and the Hoshidan royals pisses me off.

Happily in Revelations, both the classes of Nohr Noble and Hoshido Noble can be used. Maybe that'll calm Takumi down... though there is a fat chance of that...

In Fire Emblem, if a character hits level 20, they are eligible for a promotion with the use of a Master Seal. It upgrades their class, and sometimes you have a few options to pick from, depending on their base class. Example, a Cavalier can become a knight, warrior, or mounted archer (going off the top of my head, I may be wrong as far as those classes go, but you get the idea). Units can still level up in their base class after they hit level 20, and some may be better off waiting before they upgrade.
The Master Seal also upgrades the unit's attributes as if they had a massive level up, but it can also knock some attributes down depending on what they became.
So, a cavalier who becomes a mounted archer might get a speed increase, but an armour decrease.
If that's too much all at once, think of it as a pokemon evolving with an evolution stone.

Revelations is still pretty good, still they are adding more and more DLC with the game still. So you never know, might be a new class.

Since this is my first FE-game, I didn't know about the default class, so I made the MC into a Paladin (dat ass-reveal tho).... xD
Oh well, I can always change her to this after I finish Birthright.

Man I had that same reaction. Made me giggle.
Did you know that in Revelations (I haven't played Birthright so I'm not sure) you can romance your blood family? I paired my avatar with Takumi just for giggles considering how nasty he is in Conquest, didn't realize it could go romantic. We now have kids. Apparently it's ok because we're only half siblings.

Because in japan (and in france also), you can marry with your half-brother/sister.
You can also marry with your 3th cousin (the son of the son of the son of the brother/sister of your grandpa/Grandma)

Eh, not actually blood related at all actually...all of the Hoshido royals were already born when Mikoto and Sumeragi got married, and Mikoto had also already had Corrin. I dunno what you'd call that relationship, but they're certainly not blood related or half-siblings considering the parents are all different

Changing the TopicΒ a bit here:
In Sacred Stones (the japanese original at least) you could marry LordsΒ Ephraim and Eirika to each other and they were 100% siblings.
In the European/American Version they would censore a bot and their S results only in them being really Close to each other.
Guess the Japs are not that touchy with the topic

princessarien In reply to itachigodofpain [2016-05-27 23:09:21 +0000 UTC]
Did you know that's actually not true? serenesforest.net/general/comm⦠It's just one of the many myths and misconceptions about Fire Emblem, as explained on that Serenes Forest page the Japanese ending for Sacred Stones is pretty much completely identical. And I actually know for a fact that as loose (in comparison to other countries) as Japans sexual morals sibling marriage and incest of that degree is still a bridge too far for them as it is with everywhere else in the world.
And the S rank Supports were something introduced in Awakening, everything before that only had A ranks, and getting two characters (regardless of gender) to an A rank did not automatically make them get married to each other in the epilogue, only specific characters did.
Eirika's only romantic pairings in the Sacred Stones are with Innes, Saleh, and Seth. And Ephraim's are only with L'Arachel and Tana. The only time brother-sister incest has ever officially happened in the Fire Emblem series is in the fourth one, Genealogy of Holy War, and in that case it's as a result of the villain's, Manfroy, plotting and schemeing and it's definitely portrayed as a bad thing and neither Arvis or Deirdre even knew that they were actually brother and sister.

I come from a family full of heaps of remarrying so I've got the "they may have been step family from my mom's first marriage but they're still family", so to me it makes the whole thing SPIRITUALLY incestuous, but technically not.

Yeah, I can completely understand that point of view, and I do find myself a little tiny bit weirded out by the idea of shipping Corrin with any of the Hoshido royals, if someone ships it more power to 'em I say, but it's probably not going to ever be an S Support I choose in Fates or a pairing I'll go look for or anything.

For-The-Darkspear In reply to princessarien [2016-05-27 06:32:53 +0000 UTC]
Oh yeah, for sure. I think on my next playthrough I'll wind up going S rank with the Kitsune guy, though the rest of the royals are being married off. They're so strong together.

Heh, I still haven't finished any of the three paths yet Birthright is the one I've put the most effort into and progressed the furthest in so far though (on Chapter 15 I believe). I have a couple pairings I've been playing match-maker with in Birthright, but with Revelation, I have absolutely no idea what all the pairings will be since it's both casts combined...the only Revelation pairing I know for absolutely sure I'm doing is Corrin/Azura.

At about chapter 17 or 18 you've gotten access to all members of both royal families. The units are all so strong. I've got an all royal team with the exception of the kistune.

princessarien In reply to For-The-Darkspear [2016-05-28 00:41:48 +0000 UTC]
Makes sense that you'd use pretty much only the royals, I mean why wouldn't one want to use the best collection of units in the game? Which is what all of the royalty certainly are...especially Takumi, he is sooooo darn OP.

Yup, he was the first (and so far only, though Corrin is pretty close) party member to get promoted, just because it was way too easy due to him one-shotting literally everyone, he even one-shot Camilla when she showed up for her boss fight in Birthright >_>
