Part two of my mini Yokai series. Yokai are creatures in Japanese folklore that range from good to evil and have spiritual or supernatural powers.Information from Wikipedia:
Kitsune are believed to possess superior intelligence, long life, and magical powers. They are a type of yōkai, or spiritual entity, and the word kitsune is often translated as fox spirit. However, this does not mean that kitsune are ghosts, nor that they are fundamentally different from regular foxes. Because the word spirit is used to reflect a state of knowledge or enlightenment, all long-lived foxes gain supernatural abilities.

Kitsune are commonly portrayed as lovers, usually in stories involving a young human male and a kitsune who takes the form of a human woman.
This is what my piece is about. The man you see with his sword (He's just cleaning it or will be lol need to draw that) is a Ronin (Masterless Samurai), and is the lover/husband of my kitsune. He isn't aware that his wife is a kitsune at least not yet. And yes she is holding their son. X.x; I'm so bad at drawing babies.
Anyone can draw a pretty girl with fox ears and tails, and breasts that are falling out of her kimono, lol but I didn't want to go down that road this time.
I believe I'm finished. I like how it looks. -Nods proudly- I hope everyone else does!

i love the whole thing and the child. it has a very tender feel and the story is bleeding through already - always a good sign. i would not say "anyone can draw this or that". i have been trying to draw my own versions of men and women in kimonos lately [based on my own imagination - story - based on stories my grandmother told me who is not from asian at all - but was old and knew a lot of stuff] and i am not doing well. i.e.. taking way too long. i thing i have those patterns and i am not using them simply - i am cluttering shapes - i have given that up for now and will come back to it.
this is really nice. as an art piece and as a story.

It's an interesting idea on the piece. I like it. More natural and not so "oh, my spirit character is so cute everyone will glomp her!" Very nice, even has the feel of an old piece of art from that time.

I do have prints of her if you or anyone else you know would like to check it out. Cheap prices...just need to get rid of them. XD

I've seen so many demon character type pics that I never thought so. Plus, it looked more like a mask to me then her actual face, and you wouldn't hold a kid like she is if she's going to eat it. too caring for that.
so I enjoyed her image.
