Description This is Norman, the big old male clouded leopard that the Zoo had (?) as of about 3 years ago. He outweighed the two females by a good 50 pounds, he was a gigantic cat but so low to the ground! I didn't do anything to this picture - this is as good as it gets when a cat like this is in motion. And I like the blur anyway. This is what you'd see on a good day trying to find a clouded leopard anyway.

I love this photo; I think you really captured the power of this big guy and the motion blur shows just how fleeting a glimpse you can get of these creatures . . . it's a fav

Thanks - he's a lovely animal, huge without being so ungainly like a tiger or lion. I don't think he's still alive, this was a while back and he was quite old then, but still. Such power.

Yeah, the motion blurr is a very nice touch. I think it works great on this picture.

Leopards are such beautiful creatures, especially snow.

Woof

wow, that's a tight picture.

this is one of the few times where slower exposure of a camera is actually a good thing!

Actually - the digital camera caught as quickly as it could. Normally it freezes action so well that blur is almost entirely gone. This was because the action was going in so many directions (it almost looks swirly doesn'tit? hip-mo-tyzing....) and it just coulnd't get it still. My new digital couldn't have gotten even this good, it only focuses when there's a flash, and even then it's a delayed shot after you press the button (grr, arg).

Cool! Love the markings. It's too bad it's blurry, but a great jumping shot at any rate.

I pet Norman when he was still a kitten. So adorable! Then he went psycho, running around the cage, he was just playing but I guess because of his side, the adults made me get out of the cage....
Noooormeeeey!

He was so huge when they brought him out for this. He was all randy because of the twin girls living next door to him. He was thinkin, "mmmmm. I still got it."
