Description Ironhide angels!

The January Monthly Challenge deadline for is coming up and this is a submission I'm considering for it. The theme is 'Winter' and after our last snow, I couldn't resist taking photos with Ironhide

I have another photo [link] but there can be only one submission, so I have to decide by Jan. 30th which one I want to enter.

Enjoy!

tee-hee cute
When I saw this Pic I thought about how big these Snowangels would be, if the life-sized Ironhide do them

take my advice, early fall when the leaves are at their peek is perhaps the best time to come up

Letohatchee In reply to Flameshield [2011-02-15 17:57:46 +0000 UTC]

Ah, I'll definitely take your advice on that Perhaps my husband and I should visit Maine one Fall before we leave DC. We are probably the closest to Maine that we'll ever be, unless he gets stationed near Boston in the future.

LOL! The scene of you pressing your little Ironhide in the snow and grabbing his arms and legs back and forth to create this snow angel pattern totally cracked me up. What a brilliant idea!

I'd be so afraid to do that with my Ironhide!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Letohatchee In reply to AleximusPrime [2011-01-24 22:43:21 +0000 UTC]

LOL! Well, this toy has been through just about everything. It's kinda my 'beat 'em up' toy. I have another that is in pristine condition

Or maybe you mean you'd be afraid Ironhide's retribution for putting him through such silliness I guess I better keep one eye open at night when all the toys come alive

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AleximusPrime In reply to Letohatchee [2011-01-25 01:16:51 +0000 UTC]

It's the former.

I kinda want for my toys to be well protected and well taken care of. :3

Letohatchee In reply to AleximusPrime [2011-01-25 17:04:40 +0000 UTC]

Ah, I hear ya I wouldn't do stuff like this with the toy if I didn't have another that's well protected in the box

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AleximusPrime In reply to Letohatchee [2011-01-25 19:56:47 +0000 UTC]

Oh, you do that? I always just buy one. Are you gonna sell them someday when they are worth more or just as backup in case the first one gets busted?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Letohatchee In reply to AleximusPrime [2011-02-01 15:52:32 +0000 UTC]

Yea, I'm guilty of doing that I did it especially with my Star Wars collection, but Transformers, in the end, came out being worth more.

I don't do it as much as I used to, but there are certain figures that come out that you can tell may be worth more in the future (detail and craftmanship and all that). That is very true of the 2007 movie Bumblebee toys. The ones that came out with the 2009 movie are not near the quality.

And, yes, I do sell toys on ebay. I've sold some I've regretted selling and I've kept others I should have sold, so it's not an exact 'science.' I am not currently selling anything, as our last move was especially trying and we had to put all the duplicates, triplicates and quadruplets (we were both toy collectors before getting married and we both bought two, so we have four of some things) into storage. We have a ton of G1 duplicates that I've never gotten around to getting all the weapons together for. The weapons are there, but all of them are in ziplock bags by themselves with their Autobot and Decepticon counterparts located somewhere within 5 bins of bots. I may never get around to matching them all up

The newer stuff is all still in their packages, thank goodness, but every bit of it is in storage hundreds of miles away. Maybe by the time I get to it all again, they'll be worth even more (which is not actually always the case, as things are worth more when there is interest and, right now, there's a huge interest in Transformers meaning now is the time to sell...I just don't have time to get the quite literally hundreds of duplicates together) However, on the bright side, we have all the spare parts we need in case something in our main collection gets broken

Really? Cuz my 07 Bumblebee is cracking up and getting ultra loose.

Eh, I haven't sold anything on eBay yet...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Letohatchee In reply to AleximusPrime [2011-02-01 20:36:06 +0000 UTC]

That sucks...The design of the 07 BB is better than the design for the 09 one, but the 07 BB is difficult to transform and I can see how he'd be prone to cracking...

Ebay is fine, but watch that shipping stuff if you ever do decide to sell anything. I always underestimate the shipping and end up paying for it

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AleximusPrime In reply to Letohatchee [2011-02-01 20:39:51 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, but that new battle blades BB looks ok. I wanna wait though and see what new deluxe BB there will be for DOTM, that way I won't get the BB Bumblebee and then want the newer version...

You have to pay for the shipping?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Letohatchee In reply to AleximusPrime [2011-02-01 20:45:59 +0000 UTC]

He does look pretty cool I wanna see what the new DOTM BB will look like too

No, you aren't really supposed to have to (unless you want to). I just always give the shipping price and then when I go to mail the item, it ends up costing more than the price I specified to the customer. I can never get the shipping right and I always end up paying the difference.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AleximusPrime In reply to Letohatchee [2011-02-01 20:52:51 +0000 UTC]

Ah, cuz usually the buyer pays for the shipping, am I correct? In what situation would the seller have to pay for it instead?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Letohatchee In reply to AleximusPrime [2011-02-01 21:02:01 +0000 UTC]

??? I just answered that, I thought...

The buyer pays for shipping, yes, but the seller sets the shipping price. If the seller accidentally sets a shipping price lower than what the actual cost of the shipping turns out to be when he/she takes the item to the post office, then the seller pays the difference because it wouldn't be fair to tell the buyer he now has to pay more (because the seller usually waits for the final payment before shipping the item). I never know how to set the shipping because I don't know where the buyer may come from, so I set it at what I think it might be which always ends up being less than what it actually ends up being. I've tried to solve this problem by taking the item to the post office and asking what the shipping my be, but they can't give a straight answer unless they know the exact zip code the item is going to, so it's a guestimate at best, unfortunately. I think this is why some shipping costs are so outrageous, because sellers have been screwed before and are trying to prevent it.
