This is INCREDIBLE! Forgive me for asking, but I was just curious as to how you achieved this effect. Did it require a fair bit of editing to get an HDR effect? I'm just wondering because I have just ordered the SX50 (same family as SX40) and I would so love to have a similar effect - had no idea images this stunning in quality would be possible without a dslr. Amazing, amazing job! <3 <3

Hi and thank you this image and most of my pics are HDR (not HDR effect
), your camera will come with an option for exposure bracketing, i set this to take 3 shots + and - 1 exposure setting. You then need to combine these images together in a HDR program such as Luminance HDR (which is free) or more pro programs such as photomatix. Once you've tonemapped them you can import them into photoshop for the finishing touches. Your camera as its newer may come with an HDR setting, if it does it will be a much subtler effect than doing it yourself. These cameras are quite underrated i think and you can get a lot out of them, not everything you can from a DSLR but quite a lot, hope you enjoy that 50x zoom
