Bifrost is the icy moon of an ice giant that receives about the same amount of solar radiation from its G1 star as Chiron receives in our Solar System. This world has an ample nitrogen atmosphere. This "ice worm" life form is tens of meters long. It is the largest creature that lives on the surface of Bifrost. It receives some nutrient from photosynthetic symbiots in its translucent skin. It also feeds on microbes that grow in the surface layer of the moon's ice crust. It slowly crawls over the ice fields leaving caterpillar-like tracks in its wake. The tracks of this species crisscross the moon's surface leaving a distinctive weave pattern that is visible from orbit.
