Description
If you like this image you may like others in this series. [link]NO, THIS ISN'T THE SWEDISH OLYMPIC BIKINI TEAM!
There are MANY recurring stereotypes in comicbooks and animation. This is another category.
These are the ICE QUEENS.
They are sultry sirens who are irresistable to men. Often they have powers of mesmerism to pursuade the minds of others.
The founder of this archetype is the actress Veronica Lake. Her signature style in films of the 1940's was a mane of platinum blonde hair that fell across half her face and a contralto "come hither" voice.
Here are but four examples of this category.
From left to right:
Emma Frost AKA The White Queen from The X-Men
(1st introduced in X-Men by Chris Claremont & John Bryne in the 1980's)
Amora the Enchantress an Aesgaardian from THOR
(1st introduced in The Avengers in 1964, a Jack Kirby creation)
Valkyrie, another immortal Aesgaardian from THOR
(a Roy Thomas/ John Buscema character 1st introduced in the early 1970's in The Avengers)
Dream Girl from The Legion of Superheroes.
(I believe her to be a 1970's Dave Cochram creation, but someone geekier than I might correct me).

I don't know if this has already been pointed out, but Adora the Enchantress is actually Amora the Enchantress.

THANX for reminding me. I guess I got the name confused with the "Masters of the Universe" character. I'll make the correction.

Their names are indeed confusing. You're welcome.

Huh, well there you go... of course sometimes the ice queen is more cold and distant...

I may add more characters to this category.

You should do a part two that includes Poison Ivy and Encantadora.

Poison Ivy wouldn't qualify as an "Ice Queen" per se. I will have to look up Encantadora as I am unfamiliar with her.
I have posted quite a few pictures of Ivy on my DA page, both with Harley and as a member of an all-green team I call "The Maleficent Seven".

Her blood is all icy cold, though.
It might be interesting if you did a picture of Lashina, Amazing Grace, and Bloody Mary.
All of them were part of Darkseid's Elite and I guess count as women that could lure people in, Amazing Grace especially.

I have been considering doing a picture of Lashina. She is the one character that I can claim was inspired by a Playboy magazine pictorial from the 1970's. Big Barda, who I have drawn, was once a member of this group along with a character known as Mad Harriet.

*gaspeth* You did this and didn't include Lady Death!?

There is just so much room on an 8x10" sheet in which to cram characters. Any more and it begins to look like a page out of a class yearbook.
I am not all that familiar with Lady Death as a character. I only know what she looks like. I would put her in an entirely different club with pastey faced spooky characters.
Would you also consider Cammy from "Street Fighter" to qualify as an Ice Queen?

Aha, well I could tell you all about Lady Death if you like ^_____^
But I don't know who Cammy is, I've played Street Fighter only a few times in my life o_O

The "quasi" was simply meant for Dreamgirl, since I have no clue regarding her heritage and didn't want to make a snap judgment. But I'm splitting hairs.

I always had a thing for female characters on white/cold themed costumes...

Given your notes about character variation, let me reassure you: mission accomplished here. Hair & costumes aside, each quasi-Nordic nymphette sports a notably distinct facial structure, height & apparent personality.
That said, Valkyrie once again stands out from the pack in my book-her icy glare & bronzed skin tone contrast nicely with the ethereal pallor sported by Frost, Enchantress & Dreamgirl. And as ever, nice work on the braids.

You have mad previous note about body language. I also include proximics. You got it. Valkyrie is a gung-ho Class-A personaility type. She is out in front, spear in hand. The other three are more passive-aggressive. They are manipulators. I deliberately gave Val a "healthy glow" because it implies that she gets out more.
What "quasi"? How more nordoc can you get than a couple of Norse goddesses? I put them in the middle to keep the other two from blending into each other.
