Description Additional photos of my paleontological work can be seen in my DA "Paleo & Sci Illo" gallery:

This is what I do for a living. However, posting my own picture on the Internet is something I almost never do. This is only photo that I posed for during the summer field season of 2013 in the Hell Creek Formation of South Dakota. I was hired as Field Paleontologist by the Standing Rock Paleontology Department to hunt and collect dinosaurs from off of Standing Rock Sioux Reservation Tribal Trust lands.

I discovered two Triceratops skeletons in rapid succession. These I called "Thin Man" and "Bruno". We collected about 20% of the second specimen before we came to a point at which further excavation would raise the effort of recovering more bones geometrically. As this excavation wound down I decided to go look for the next project. Within 90 minutes I discovered the skull of yet another Triceratops. This juvenile individual I called "Odie". I am holding Odie's disarticulated left horn core and eye socket. Although the skull had fallen apart into its constituent elements, all but the right horn core were preserved in good condition.

I am seen wearing a "Walking With Dinosaurs" ball cap. My daughter bought me this on line the previous Christmas. It has a Velociraptor camo pattern and a little silvery "raptor" pin. I wondered why Krystal got me this as I study Eocene primates. Little did I know at the time that I would be spending the following summer digging up dinosaurs. I wore it every day in the field until it got worn out. I have retired it.

The mud around my knees was a result of sweating in my knee pads. As the inventor of "Gonzo Paleontology" I can attest that I accomplish "dirty deeds done dirt cheap".

This is absolutely cool it's nice to know that there is a paleontologist on dA. I like the Trike's horn core looks pretty amazing! ^_^

I wish I had your job. I've always loved dinosaurs and evolutio0n, but am terrible at math. I loved my anthropology classes. I just stopped aiming for that job because of the math requirement.

You have my Dream job. Even though I'm very versed in Paleontology because of my grades they wouldn't even let me in the front door to try.

Cheer up. I came in through the back door. My MA is in Anthropology and I never finished my PhD. I never got through calculus which is a prerequisite for a Geology major.

Hmm Perhaps I could do that... I am taking a Math course to get into Welding... Maybe i'll try a different approach like that after I've got my C ticket
