yup. so do you start out with a sketch and paint it with photoshop? I'm very interested to know how you do these wonderful works of art. Its like seeing well done pieces that one wouldnt normally do, theyd do something like...flowers.
I'd love to see if you could pull of something similar to my rays vs. rex. I know youd do better in the style department.
End
Justin

No sketches for this one, just jotted everything down in photoshop and worked on it. which may be why it took so long.
I'll do a sketch next time. Maybe I'll get faster.

Thanks!
MG players are a dying breed. Because we're so OLD!
Looking at the whimpre snapers praising the MGS3 and devoting entire sites to the new hits with no regard to the back bone story of the Metal Gear universe.
The first dev that commented on this drawing actually pointed me to a site supposedly ran by his brother that had no, pardon the pun, "substance" what so ever. It was gorgeous, chucked full of eye candy, but lacked any siginificant info on the genre.
I never even got a chance to finish the classic MGs, and they're SOOOO combersome to play in Rom form. I just don;t have the energy to play them anymore. But the reference site I pulled the info from gives concise time line of everything from Zanzibar Land, Shadow Moses all the way up to the crash in NYC.
I enjoy the story continuity much more than the actual game play now, in my twilight years.

I disagree.
According to the fictitious information, the D model is 8.5 meters tall, that's not even 30'.
Fully loaded it's just shy of a 3 story building.
It is one of the smallest gears in the story line.

Man, I feel your pain.
Makes me wanna volenteer myself for experimentation for the GENOME soldier project. To become a nearly indestructable 1 man recking crew!
Little do I know that I will never reep the benifit of the testing.

Thanks.
I disagree with the assesment.
Accorting to te fictitious info, the D model is 8.5 meters tall. That's just shy of a 3 story building.
Here's the info regarding the specifications on the Metal Gear D.

And a size comparison

Maybe it's coz the angle. It kind of gives an illusion that the cleaner is as half tall as the robot. ^^

Thanks man!
I'm all hyped now because this is the second time I had to defend my work. And this time, I'm more right than the last one, almost a yaer ago. That one actually had some serious technical flaws.
But my specs on this piece is right on the money regarding the Metal Gear D.
now, everything else is open to debate.

If you're refreing to the scale between the D and the Rex. I can understand.
If you're refering to the hight of the D to the human, I am here to inform you that the D model is 8.5m tall.
I'd recommend some recreational reading here[link]
as well as this reference image

If you can provide a link on the specifications of the Metal Gear D like I did, I will gladly read it.

Absolutely. I look forwrd to a concise detail of the Metal Gear D, or any other obscure models that you can dig up.
In fact, If you can find decent designe diagrams of the Gander, then you've REALLY prooven yourself!

Thanks. Depending on what reference you go by, metal gear gets slapped with all sorts of weird camo pattern.
Which make sense, these things were assult bipedal vehicles, naturally it would be painted to match the environment.
I figure a cleaned up museum style finish would be suitable for this setting.
