I do like this one.. The colours are great, and I like the armour and pose. I just think it's really nicely done, no idea who she's supposed to be, but I still think it's great.

Not a trade secret at all.
Usually, I'd draw using a bold medium. Markets and ballpoint pens works quite well. BPpens tend to smudge and leave uneven edges. So, you'd have to draw big. This image had a line art composed of lines up to about 1/16th of an inch thick.
Take the image into software, e.g. photoshop, then clean up using levels or curves, your choice.
I discovered that some details can be sacrificed to gain a smoother looking line work:
1) scan the line art at the largest resoution that's practicle. My scanner can handle up to 600dpi.
2) Enlarge the image sice of the scanned file from 130% to 200% depending on the capabilities of your computer.
3) Gausian blur by 1 to 4, depending on the actual resolution after enlarging.
4) Tweek levels: Adjust until the slightly fussy edge comes into a sharper edge.
5) Resize to desired work size. I tend to work at 150% to 200% of final image presentation size.

I'd recommend reference and practice. The quality of references can actually determin the level of detail of your drawn images.
I tend to spend a lot of time looking on google for assorted firearm images.
When you find a nice picture, save it. Build an archive of your subject. It will be a valuable tool!

Her left upper arm doesn't quite seem to line up properly with the left lower arm (the elbow would be very very weird). That is the only issue I can think of. Otherwise, it's realllly kickass. I love warrior babes. Preferably with long straight hair

Looks sorta l ike a soilder from Ghost in the shell. I like how the clothes underneath we're drawn appearing to be streched due to all the stuff strapped upon her.
Is it me or are her clothes slightly " pixelated"? Is that possibly a tribute to PSX Metal gear solid and all its pixelated glory?

Yup, the fabric does look pixelated. I ran a mosaic filter before displacing a B/W cloud pattern. I was curious about how the filters would yield.
Now that you mentioned the PSX MGS, it does have that effect. This was not intentional though.
I remember how the original MGS characters did not have facial animations.
