Opencanvas was used for making this image.
Basic round brushes are what use. Then again, I am using 5.5. Newer version have much better dynamic brushes as well as dynamically scalable brushes via hot key, not fixed scaleing like 5.5.
I use airbrush and gradient tool for hazes.
Thanks for looking!

Very interesting colouring and I love the character design but I think the composition is a bit dull. There is a lot of empty space in that courtyard and I think the position of the characters is along the line that leads into infinity so it all looks very 'straight.' Sorry, I have not described what I mean very well.

lhs In reply to Sharpy7 [2004-01-04 21:45:48 +0000 UTC]
Indeed.
The actual finished BG is intended for the background of another project with foreground elements to be composed.
There is a delicate balance between element placement and rest areas. The taste for "relaxed" visual area is diffucilt to guage from project to project. The necessity of unseen elements and economy of rendition time dicitated my choise for such placements.
Thanks for commenting.

dude this is professional grade man, by the way, what do you think is better, open canvas or photoshop?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
lhs In reply to Chrono1209 [2004-01-04 21:52:46 +0000 UTC]
I think photoshop is better in the long run. More tools, more functions, more effects, adjustment capabilities.
Overal, it is superior in everyway.
Opencanvas has excent painterly feel with out the painter price tag. but depending on what version you get, the limited tools makes it dificult for highly tecnical drawings. It is also somewhat memor consumtive when ran ono my maching.
Thanks for looking!

Wow, this is really good, but everyone's already said that.
I'd really like to see it developed with more detail and less sketchiness, and the doors on the right stick out a lot. I think they need to be darker in order to fit with the lighting, but I'm not sure. The reflection of the moon also seems too long.
Overall however, this is a well-deserved top fav.

Amazingly done.
I get the impression that it had recently rained and if so, then the reflective floor was beautifully done.
I'm very impressed.

Armored Core is about the only game that is nearly a First Person Shooter that i actually tolerate. its prolly because its not actually a first person shooter because the view is above and behind the AC you are piloting.
you do outstanding work man. even if i dont comment, i do take a look at anything new you choose to post here on DA. i should be thanking you for sharing your great works
