Because there is not a single shred of doubt in my mind that GLaDOS has hidden tracking devices in the companion cube, I figured that Chell would have similar suspicions and eventually figure out how to contact our favourite sarcastic AI using those very same devices.

That said, I also think that Chell, after re-adjusting to society and eventually forgiving GLaDOS, loves getting back at the AI (in a friendly, non-violent way, of course) through the little things. Little things such as owning a pet bird and eating potato-based food products while being perfectly in view of the companion cube's many hidden cameras.
