Description
This was a broad, large oil study I did of my daughter Matylda, as she sat reading her book on a very sunny day in southern Ireland. It's loose, but it really captures that moment, and the light - which was what I was hoping for. An essence!L.

Don't let anyone tell you that just because you draw guys in spandex means your not an artist. This obviously shows that you have a medium and subject versatility.

The digital realm can often spoil us all. Must be a year to 18 months since I've messed with oils. I'm really appreciating this piece - nice to see the personal work from time to time.

I wish I had the balls to try oils. This is a great painting, Liam!

Thanks Steve.
You don't need balls though, you just have to go for it without reservation, or fear. I don't know what it is that stalls people, but really it's painless, and incredibly cathartic.
Try it.
Very best,
Liam.

Um, my "g" didn't want to work. Above, it should say "Gearing up" not "earing up"...

Thanks, Liam. One of these days. I've painted in acrylics before and found it enjoyable. I'm earing up to enter the police academy here, so time isn't something I'll be having a lot of until after June - but maybe then. It might help releave some stress to be able to relax and dabble...
