This one is from 1987!!! I was really happy with this, and one of the editors asked if he could buy it. I said no. And I never saw it again.I was 19, and too young to do anything about it at the time...
Somebody was really slating my 2000ad work online recently - I mean, REALLY saying I was bad - but when I look at this stuff, and think how old I was, well - I'm sorry, but they're full of shit.
A little aside - her badge reads "Credo", which was the Nemesis catch-phrase, or word in his case. At the time Watchmen was huge, and everybody was wearing smily-face badges. This was my attempt to tap into that zeitgeist!

Man I have exactly the same problems like you had. I constantly put myself under pressure and this is holding me back all the time. I guess I need to change that attitude until it's too late.

Dude, if you can you'll find it makes all the difference. You can't get better if you judge yourself against others. Be inspired - never intimidated. If you're not enjoying it, forget it. What I do now is look at, and appreciate my peers - then I put that stuff away. I try to use REAL ref when I use it, not other work. I'm still inspired by other guys, but I'm not so uptight and constantly pissed off that I'm not as good as I think I SHOULD be. That's a terrible way to spend your life.
Yeah, enjoy it man. Learn from other guys, but don't ever try to BE them. I think I might have done that a bit too much when I was younger...
