So, I've recently been re-watching old episodes of the A-team. I still like it a lot. There are many very odd things about it, if you stop to think about it for too long.Like how the team manages to find morally just gigs all the time. The USA must be full of small towns where all the officials are corrupt, or cities where evil corporations just do whatever the please.
The hospital where Murdock is committed must have the worst security ever, or then they just don't care how their patients just run away. I'm also bit confused as to why Lynch or Decker never, you know, put Murdock under surveillance, since they knew where he lived. And at some point it was pretty clear for them he was running around with his team.
No-one ever gets seriously hurt by all the shooting, the bad guys just get knocked out, or lose their fighting spirit or something. I'm fine with dispending my disbelief at it, though. Since the main characters never kill or even really hurt anyone, it's much easier to root for them.

*dies laughing* I love that last frame where you have Murdock saying the holodeck was malfunctioning. I actually have been Netflixing discs of Star Trek: Next Generation and Voyager JUST for Dwight! I used to like watching STNG when I was little and kind of vaguely remember Barclay, but now that I've rediscovered Dwight and my love for him, I've been goin' nuts! LOL! Movies, TV shows...yeeeeeah...I have a problem.

I originally knew him from Star Trek. I like Barclay and Murdock, but they are so completely different characters I don't really think that other character when I was either show.
Like with some shows. For example Bones. My brain expects that agent who played Angel to burst on flames at any minute.

LOL I love Barclay, he's so adorably shy and awkward, I just wanna huggle him up and never let him go. And Murdock...*swoons*...I love pilots, so Murdock is like my ideal man. LOL! He's funny, sweet, damn good lookin', a pilot...yeeeeah. I'd take either one in a heartbeat!

It's one of the series where I can't decide who I like best either. The characters work together so well.

I love the A-Team's version of reality - if people fight, they never get seriously hurt. Bullets skirt around people, explosions damage cars and garages and not much else - even black eyes and split lips are rarities.
I recently found out that the hospital Murdock is committed to is actually a real place, which made me wonder whether the staff really are that dumb/ laid-back there...

Yeah, they always beat people unconscious, and afterwards they just wake up, without any injuries.
The heroes get hurt every now and then. But even still, their injuries heal rather quickly. I just watched an episode where they were beaten and Hannibal (or maybe Face) listed their injuries as broken bones (I recall Murdock having broken ribs) but in the next scene they were just fine.
It makes the series much funnier to watch, though.

Not all older tv-shows stood the teast of time, of course. Series like the A-team are still remembered today, because they worked.
And they are good to watch one episode every now and then when you catch the reruns.
Are you familiar with the original Mission impossible? Me and my dad love it and watch it from DVD. In fact, I named my pet snake after a character from it.

Very true. I'd never actually thought about it, but it really does seem that every little town in the US is run by a bad guy! It's also astounding that the A-Team knows practically every Asian restaurant owner living in America... and how they can build a tank out of a couple of pieces of metal and a field of cabbages.

It would have made more sense for them to use the same restaurant for some of those episodes, but I guess getting the same one and the same actors would have been hard.

I guess, but the fact that they didn't get the same actors and the same restaurants back gives the show a really cheesy, low-budget charm. That's part of the whole reason why the A-Team was such a good show - they didn't have to spend a whole load of money on it, and you'd still love it.

I dunno about that show being low-budget, I mean a lot of the stunts look expensive. They trash at least one car per episode.
I think it wasn't because of the budget, but because either they couldn't get them or because it was a episodic show, they would just do as they normally would and get new supporting cast and places to shoot for each one. I'm not sure if this was the case with the A-team, but for some such shows there could be different teams working on different episodes simultaneously.
