JOHN: thanks again rose. hey, i think this one strand got away from you.ROSE: It's by design, actually.
JOHN: oh. something to do with a knitting technique or
ROSE: Whimsy.
JOHN: ...whimsy.
ROSE: Whimsy.
JOHN: is...that a thing you can do? be?
JOHN: uuugggh forget it, that came off rude. sorry.
ROSE: No no, I'm not helping matters by acting so coy. Although...
JOHN: ...although you're still gonna hold me to figuring it out, huh.
ROSE: With hints. You'll realize it's better to slide the pieces into place yourself once you get it.
JOHN: ok.
ROSE: For one, it's whimsy for reasons similar to why my end of the strand wasn't relegated to being wrapped around my little finger. Or my foot, for that matter.
JOHN: uhhh.
ROSE: For another, I'm of the persuasion that, enough symbolic trappings in place to bear its visage, blue is a perfectly acceptable substitute for red. That and red is passe for this particular...
ROSE: Well.
ROSE: Ritual.
JOHN: ...

Art requested by *LatiaIam on tumblr! Dialogue requested by personal whim and an apparent desire to attach cruddy fan fiction to things that didn't start off with an extant backstory. That sort of thing seems to happen whenever I hit upon that rare OTP.
It's also painfully obvious to anyone with a brain that this picture ships the soles of Rose's shoes with John's. But of course.

I'm so very confused. I know this is Rose/John, butI got lost in wat rose was trying to say. TAT sure it was amazing, but I can't understand. The pic is awesome though, I can say that without being confused

It's okay, I can see how it'd be confusing! Rose is alluding to the "red string of fate " here; she decided to improvise with the blue yarn she's already using to mend John's hood.
TBH though, I think the main show of this drawing is the knitting and the fabric and the awkward teenage blushiness. The dialogue I added later to flesh out the mini "red string" allusion is more of a bonus than anything, so it's cool.
That said, I'm happy you enjoyed the picture in spite of the confusion anyway!

Ooooooh! I know what the red string of fate is. It's the red string that unites soul mates together, and when it slips off your fingers, it means that they have fallen in love. I just wasn't paying close enough attention I guess.
Awkward teenage blushiness is always awesome to have in a pic. now Ican appreciate this picture more!
