Description You can all probably guess my reasons for all these characters...

Cyrus, as you know, hated the world so much, that he wanted to eliminate emotion and try to re-write the universe for his own vision of perfection and even took control of the rulers of time and space by the red chain and nearly succeeded in his goals to make a new universe by destroying reality itself.

Magolor, because, if you played Kirby's Return to Dreamland, you know he used and betrayed his friends for his own ends and became a power-mad monster that tried to conquer the universe.

Zill, well...if you played Ar Nosurge: Ode to an Unborn Star, she built an entire campaign around hatred and demagogue tactics to make people fight each other in a pseudo-religious conflict for her goals of becoming a goddess.

Link, as you all know, has the Triforce of Courage, which, yeah...makes sense for Willpower. That, and he has to have a great deal of it, what with standing up to all the threats and monstrosities like Ganon and Cia and Vaati and whatnot.

Sora, who as you know, fights in the name of friendship and to restore light to a broken universe and save all hearts from the threat of darkness and fought many, many threats throughout the universe like the Heartless, Nightmares, and Nobodies and fought powerful villains like Xehanort and many Disney and Square villains.

Spiderman, whom, if you've seen anything of Spiderman and how he acts, especially in the cartoons and comic books, he is a good moral hero who has a great deal of compassion towards anyone, even if he is hated for all the things he does.

Terra Branford. She is the product of love itself between espers and humans. That, and she stood up to Kefka with her friends and fought him in the name of love for everyone, even if it meant great risk to herself and a loss of her heritage as an esper.

Emmet, whom, if you have seen the Lego Movie, he is fighting in the name of restoring life and beauty and creativity to a world run by a megalomaniac. Plus, it does make sense that he gets the White Lantern Power, because he actually did 'die' and came back from the 'dead', only he got much, much stronger and ended up saving the world, not by his great power, which was very great and made the main villain very scared, but by peace and mercy.

Flowey, whom, if you are familiar with Undertale or did any research into him like I have, was reborn from the dead, only with a heart nor soul to feel compassion, which made him go insane, especially after he discovered the power of reset after trying to commit suicide. That and he tried to become a god (and, of course, you know Asriel is known as 'the God of Hyperdeath') and tried to make the world burn and suffer, since...he had been killed in basically a hate crime and trapped in a flower by mad science without a soul...

Pretty cool.

Who do you think would be ideal to lead it?

how about Karl from Law of Talos? Or Jinx or Ziggs from LOL? or Skull kid from majora's mask? or DEADPOOL!

Deadpool or Mr. Mxy would be good choices.

Though I fear if someone like the Joker did get it, for while he's not powerful on his own compared to many other characters, the madness generated from him with this lantern power would make him a very serious threat and it wouldn't be the first time that a normal human of great emotional power did become very strong by their ring.

I alredy thought on joker as a temporal Purple Lantern, if Scarecrow, Lex Luthor and WonderWoman can be a sinestro lantern, an orange lantern and a star sapphire, why cant he be a purple one? But Purple Lanterns doesn't recruit their agents the same way the other corps do: Rick Wilde, their leader, brings a lot of rings with him and gives them in person to whoever he likes. Because, Why Not? So he would basically get one by chance. And some of the Suicide Squad members would get some too as a temporal alliance.

But yeah, deadpool is indeed the best option to me, because HOLY HELL, I CAN CREATE GUNS AND KITTENS WITH MY MIND!!!

Deadpool would be amazing for it, because he is insanity.

I'm not sure Cyrus represents Rage very well. Rage implies a strong emotional reaction while Cyrus on the other hand is as far from emotional as it goes, he's a stoic and nearly a Nihilist.

LightArcIndumati In reply to Bysthedragon [2017-04-12 23:56:49 +0000 UTC]

Ah, but who says anger and hate and resentment are hot, burning bright, apparent, and obvious?

...Cyrus is a nihilist, cold, emotionless, ruthless. But his reasoning is that he blames emotions for the suffering he experienced. He believes that because people have free will, they will use it to abuse others, like they did to him in his childhood. He is very much motivated by anger and hatred and a very strong resentment. So much so that he his vision is to basically enslave the universe and remove what he believes leads to abuse and destruction like he experienced, and he will use anything, anyone, even his own allies, even gods themselves, to do it.

...Never underestimate the hatred and anger of a patient, cold, calculating person. They are the ones that will do anything when threatened at any cost, even to themselves. They are the ones that will manipulate everyone and everything from the shadows under the guise of anything they can. They are the ones who would most like the see the world burn in the name of what they believe is justice and believe is order.

My favorite has to be Makuta Teridax the main villain from the first generation of Bionicle. There is so much that is awesome about him but I think the best part about Teridax is that he is a genius and master manipulator. Every victory on the heroes' part was already planned out by Teridax to advance his plans along, he used his own enemies as the ultimate minions, and thanks to them fulfilling their destiny, they also completed Teridax's ultimate goal to become god!Β

Nice!

Another is Guzma. No, not for memes. Let's just say there are certain...motivations within his backstory that are pretty subtle but a bit vindictive of the kind of things that I discovered in his house, that, experiencing similar things, I guess I understand why he became like he did.

Lusamine was a pretty tough fight with all of her high defense but as a villain it's debatable to whether you think her being brainwashed made her so horrible and cruel.

Only to get poisoned by a Nihilego.

Agreed, though his plan had some possible flaws from some perspective "Pokemon trainers are horrible but it's ok if I make my pokemon fight for me", I could easily look over that with the idea that he saw himself as being their leader or chieftain much like in the second movie, and he did fight along side his pokemon clones unlike most humans who command from a safe spot. What I think I like most about him as a villain is that he questions everything, he doesn't have some arbitrary desire, he just sees a flaw in humans ruling pokemon and wants to do something about it.Β

I think Nazis were supposed to be part of the inspiration for team Flare, but the one moment when I really felt like they were a parable for Nazis was one throw away line when talking to a grunt after the ultimate weapon springs out of the ground and he says something like "I will not turn around." and being Jewish that hit me pretty hard...it's a simple line and maybe I am just over analyzing but that reminds me of how people turned their backs and let horrible things happen to innocent people because they didn't want to get involved.Β

How about team Aqua and team Magma...people joke about how their goals made no sense trying to expand the land or sea but could this have been a metaphor, and that brings the question to mind; Does the underline meaning of a story make the story itself better/worse?
What do you think?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LightArcIndumati In reply to Bysthedragon [2017-04-17 17:41:19 +0000 UTC]

Maybe a conflict of corrupt Industrialists who would sacrifice nature for mankind, and extremist environmentalists who would sacrifice mankind for nature? Only to realize, in the end, that what they did would destroy the world and thus mean the destruction of their goals as they go wrong for trying to alter and control things that they shouldn't?

Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Bysthedragon In reply to LightArcIndumati [2017-04-17 18:13:07 +0000 UTC]

Well Team Aqua and Team Magma both saw themselves as environmentalists so in this case it's not exactly industry versus nature but that is also a major theme in pokemon that ties into another: Alchemy versus Meditation.
In ORAS, team Aqua/Magma's ultimate goal was tweeted slightly...they no longer just wanted to expand the land or the sea they wanted to destroy the world that currently exists and revert the earth back to it's primal beginnings; Cleans the world and start over from scratch. This is the same basic goal as Team Flare, Team Galactic, and Team Plasma, but Aqua and Magma gave this operation a very specific name...Project AZOTH. What is AZOTH? AZOTH is the alchemical name of God's power. Gnostic Christians believe that god's power is a form of alchemy that allows for the transmutation of Aether into Matter, and vice versa, and if a human were to create the Philosopher's stone then they could tap into this power and usurp god!Β
Contrary to that in Hinduism they believe that people can become gods themselves simply through meditation and self improvement.Β

Well, Lusamine's name. That and she has the facade of a good person and has corrupted a good organization into a force for evil due to her pride and the cronyism and ambition of her own staff, particularly Dr. Faba. That and underneath her...angelic facade, that she is actually very, very cruel and sees herself as superior to everyone and everything else, hence her rejection of even what made her human and her obsession with Nihilego...who's name is based on nihilism and ego and has abilities that corrupt people into madness...

Well, Ghetsis is a cult leader that does seem to have that sort of tone in the first game...

And then became ISIS in the second game.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Bysthedragon In reply to LightArcIndumati [2017-04-19 03:07:13 +0000 UTC]

Not Isis, they are supposed to look like Pirates because that actually happened in real life. After the Crusades a lot of knights were left behind. Many of them thenΒ resorted to piracy to make money and if they were captured then they would be burned and their head and femurs would be placed in the symbol of the Chi-rho (the head on the top of the P and the femurs in an X) thus creating the symbol of the Skull and Crossbones. The symbol for team Plasma is P in a Z because the Chi-Rho is still a religious symbol of the Roman Catholic Church, so they put the X somewhere else like in the center of Ghetsis's Staff! (orig10.deviantart.net/8b6c/f/2… upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia… )
Ghetsis's name also comes from G-Cis which is a tone called "The Devil in Music" if you play the G-cis it involves the devil...I believe we have begun to venture down a rabbit hole...

LightArcIndumati In reply to Bysthedragon [2017-04-19 15:24:36 +0000 UTC]

I see...

Makes sense with their heavy Christian religious extremist themes. Which is also appropriate giving the games take place in New York...

Trust me, there are a lot of people not too different from Team Plasma in America...which is why I enjoyed fighting them and showing Ghetsis what's up by having Lilligant, my dear Cinderella, stomp him flat.

Sorry I'm so late, it's been a very long day. Unfortunately I also have a lot of Extremist Christians around here too. They come around when the weather is nice and preach that everyone is going to hell unless we accept Jesus as our lord and savior. I am not a religious person but I am facilitated in various other cultures especially ancient cultures that aren't around anymore and one of my favorites is the Aztecs, so I wear a Quetzalcoatl necklace. One of these christian extremists saw my necklace and got their group to harass me...
