Description
Here I did a render completely with presets of Claire -> =Ladyofspira - terrain, atmo and surfaces are all created by her; I did this as a memorial of her, cause I thought she was gone from dA. But as I've seen now, she is back and I'm really glad about!Only thing created by myself here is the strata-map and the setting (POV, moon)...
Rendertime was 3 hrs 12mins, postwork about 30 mins.
Rendersize 3840x2400, DL-size is 1920x1200

Nice work. Then only quibble I have is that the moon should be reflected in the water...It is a nit. I love the POV and the strata coloration.

Beautiful work, the finished piece is just breathtaking!
The terrain itself really sets the scene for everything. I have tried this terrain but never bothered to try a camera angle facing all the mountains like this. The strata just goes perfectly on the mountains, but I wonder if a slightly more neutral (less colors) map with a full desert surface would look even better (a great example here: [link] ).
Great atmosphere as well, it reminds me very much of Claire's work, especially the peaceful serenity and simplicity of it. Great work overall!

Hey mate!
Nice to hear from you!
Well, I'm halfway OK again; my mother have died 6 months ago and I have had a really bad time. But now what shall I say - life is going on and does not stop. So yeah, I have to try to make the best of it...
But I'm really glad to meet you - looking forward to new stuff from yours
And thanks for your kind comment mate, and for the fave as well!

You are kidding me, don't you?
That's Terragen 0.9.19 and I have seen that you have couple TG-pics in your gallery yourself - so you must kidding me...
No, seriously - thanks for the kind comment.

lol, There are actually quite a few terrain renderers out there: Bryce, TerraBlocks, MojoWorld, etc
A couple I only got 25
No problem, you did a great job

It has a beautiful late Sunday afternoon glow to it. And it begs to be dressed up with things, but probably that's just me.
Lovely work!

Yes, you are absolutely right with the things to dress up; but it was the first piec I did in six months and so somehow I hurried to much i guess...
But I think it's more a Thursday afternoon glow
Much thanks for the comment and the fav as well my friend!

Until reading your comment, I still thought LadyofSpira was gone...she did a great job on this terrain, and you did a great job texturing and rendering it. It can be hard to get such a large sense of scale.

Yeah, I thought exactly the same; but then I looked on her page for her e-mail-addy and have seen - there's a new deviation...
Made me happy, cause I felt kinda guilty cause when I told her about ripped pics of her on Flicker - she went away from dA.
And yes indeed, it's a really great terrain she made here (and generously as she is, she gave it to the community); but as I wrote - atmo and surfaces was created by her also. Only texture created by me was the strata; mainwork for me here was to choose from her surfaces and atmos that it fits all together well. Than fiddling around with the POV and the moon for trying to make a harmonic image
Well, it doesn't become too bad, considering it's the first piece I made in six months, I guess.
Much thanks for your kind comment mate!
