Seriously though, why do most of the male characters in RWBY suck? I thought RT, the people who made charming characters like North and York would do better than what's in RWBY.

Ren's not bad, more like boring. The most interesting male character in RWBY's age group is…actually Mercury. Though if I had to pick the best male character, it would be either Ozpin or Qrow - though Qrow was kinda an ass in some of his scenes for some reason.
