Okay, I have this theory...
What if Cinder is actually just insane because she was abused as a kid? I mean, her theme is Cinderella and we all know how she was bullied by her sisters but then forgave them because she found her prince charming, right? Well, going back to Blake's words, "The real world isn't the same as a fairy tale."
What if Cinder is the "other path" that Cinderella would have gone if her prince charming or fairy godmother never arrived?
She wants to destroy the world at it's every joint, strip every fighter of their power and sow fear into the hearts of everybody.

That, or I just paraphrased Tsubaki's backstory from Mirai Nikki
