Description
  Many weapons had developed in Kaerlund in order to combat the rise of the Shattered. These plague-corrupted beings were best combated from a distance, or as much of a distance as possible, to reduce the chance of infection via contact. Many regular firearms do not work on them, with the exception being the very expensive Dementirus lines of handguns. However, Dementirus handguns were not the only weaknesses the Shattered have. They were also suceptible to Soulsmane, which is a type of projected Rippled Steel that weighs very little, is extremely durable, and is generated by the faith of a religious thaumaturge infusing the Spiritual Stone called Alabaster. This would obviously lead to the creation of longer weapons with these qualities incorporated.

  For the sake of the inclusivity of use, the Alabaster Sever weapons were connected to vials of artificial resonant Fidelinas, a fluid meant to amplify the effects of even a single drop of a thaumaturge's blood. The weapon in its dormant state takes the form of a glaive-axe, and when activated, generates a blade of Soulsmane. It goes without saying that the Soulsmane is more effective when the user's faith is stronger. The weapon seems to resonate when in the presence of regular, heartfelt prayer, as if blessed by God.

  Handling these weapons require a generous amount of dexterity, but they do not have the adverse effects that Dementirus weapons do.
