DONT FUCKIGN FORGET: YOUR CHAOS TWOHANDER AND GRASS CREST SHIELDSo, me and some other people on the Discord were wondering why the heck weren't there more Dust Zweihanders in the RWBY OC community, as the FNDM seems to be far too saturated with Dust Crystal bladed katanas and shit like that.
So I made mine while spamming Shadiversity videos in the background.
Also yes the pommel is unscrewable for either reloading the compressed Dust, or for ending rightly.

Your enthusiasm for medieval weaponry comes across in the design. (Particularly in that you know what a murder stroke is, as well as the rather reasonable profile of the blade.) Despite being very fantastical, it's also extremely practical.

Ah, we do need some more European swords (or just anything but katana) in the mix. Maybe then I can actually start appreciating katana a bit more when they're not the sword equivalent of spam.
And these Zweihanders (aka, Chandeliers in spellcheck) are, of course, very beautiful. The fact that the blades are entirely of dust makes them wonderfully vibrant. Though I wish there was any purple dust but alas there are none that I know of (sadly, gravity is black).
Also, though these are nice swords, WHAT ABOUT DRAGONS!?

Also, that's a DAMN great sword...although I'm a bit dubious about the lack of long-range attacks...unless it can fire elemental slashes?

Very neat one, especially when there's - yes, indeed - too few of the medival swords in the FNDM. Kind a resembles second and third version of the bastard sword of the one of my OCs, but only kind a)

TBH though it seems that it holds too little volume of dust. also, can you really half-sword when the thing is actively freezing/burning/tazing your hands?

That's what the trigger is for. The Dust blade is basically a blade that feels like glass unless the trigger is squeezed. Because continued activation of the Dust without use depletes the blade and makes it brittle.
Also, there are significantly more Dust katanas I've seen, trying to replicate Adam Taurus' weapon. And looking for "greatsword" gives me Buster swords instead of zweihanders.

british-ish style longswords (and hand-and-half swords) are quite popular too. some of the longer ones could be considered zweihanders.

I think you misunderstand- You hold onto the trigger to activate the Dust's ice/fire/electricity/wind powers. Otherwise, it's just a sword with a crystal blade and your hands won't get frostbitten/burnt/etc. when halfswording.
