The Myth of the N'tefith

They say a Wasp laid in the forest,

A wild and hateful beastly hermit,

A scoundrel with many sins done in his prime.

A family came in seeking solace,

A man, his wife, a young newborn face,

Repose or turn to lives of crime.

Fortune took pity on the family,

They built a home, and lived happily,

City slums were now left in their past.

Six years roll by, the Wasp found fury,

At the family bound in his territory,

He comes and finds vengeance at last.

He lures the child from his play field,

Then a dagger behind his back held,

Slaughtered the young lad amongst the trees.

Brutal evil in the Wasp's heart did lie,

He turn the child into a meat pie,

Given to the parents, the ate as they please.

Cackling wicked words of mockery,

He revealed his heinous robbery,

Of their child's life they loved so dear.

And of whom they had just tasted,

And of now they digested,

This horror the forest did hear.

In grief the wife slit her bowels,

Their child's body on bloodstained towels,

She died the moment she lost her voice.

Faeries of compassion and shame,

Their anger at the Wasp none can tame,

They gave the man a hopeless choice.

The husband in anger,

Tore the Wasp's neck asunder,

And buried his family outside their home.

He looked to the sky,

Slit his neck and bled dry,

And fell into a grave of his own.

The Faeries took their bodies,

Singing incantations in magical melodies,

Raised them up as beings of inhuman breed.

They forever wander the forest,

They do not desire sleep nor rest,

For those who enter the forest's land, take heed.

They protect the ones with hearts of fear,

Of those with no ill intent their ears hear,

They give the solace they were long ago denied.

But guests of hate and desire to kill,

Of those of murderous ill will,

They lay out on the grounds where their child died.

Enter the Heathon woods and seek the heart,

The lifeless circle of mangled body parts,

The bones and stench of death stifle lives.

Know what's begotten by those who come,

To the forest with hearts loveless and numb,

The N'tefith take you into the watch of their eyes.
