When i started CoT, I right off the bat intended to make a Lavos image. There have been some incredible ones by fans over the years, though.. And if I'm being 100% honest, it was very intimidating. Still, I had a lot of fun with it and feel like it fits within the fan community nicely. I wanted to capture as much intensity- what the end of the world might feel like- as possible. Hope you enjoy it

This is awesome! The scene was already pretty intense in the game but you turned it up a few notches. Love this!

One of the most harsh game overs ever. Especially at the final battle where, instead of just "hey, you died, reset" it plays it all out and hammers home "YOU FAILED, KID!"

I know, dude.
This is one of the few things in video games that legit scares me.
Because, as you stated, it's not just another "game over."
It's the game saying: "No matter what, you cannot change fate. Your world is doomed. Accept it."Β
That is just chilling.

and to just hammer that right into a kid, hahaha!

All the more reason why those certain side quest "hints" that Gaspar tells you about are imperative to complete due to just how invaluable the VERY much needed rewards are to properly survive said fight, and not just on the outside of the shell either, that's just the "sampler" after all. XD heh

Sorta, but a lot less Johnny Cash.
At first it sounds more laid back, less sinister, than I would've imagined the Lavos theme to be.
Then the second part picks up, but never quite reaches that crowning 5-star moment, which is what World Revolution is supposed to do.
Part 3 sounds very light-hearted, which is honestly very difficult to do, so it has that going for it, I guess. Thing is, this music is supposed to play when the heroes finally see the horrifying culmination of what Lavos has been trying to do, and this battle is taking place in a frequently-changing battlefield across many different timestreams. The music does not match the scene, simply put, even after the mood change (~18:20), which seems like a half-dedicated attempt to recover from the slower version of Last Battle.
I did find it interesting that the author worked in the "death sounds" at the end, though given the Johnny Cash opening, I thought "Ring of Fire" would show up once again, like bookends. Oh well. Missed opportunity.
All in all, this sounds like a highly experimental piece that doesn't quite make it for me. No incentive for me to listen to it a second time. I'd give it 2 out of 5 stars.

Shame, man! But thats why music is subjective
personally it's one of my favorite VGM songs I've ever heard. Was an absolute honor to have it made for the project. But like I said, subjective!
