After the previous year's Harmony of a Hunter where I did 25 years in one Image.. I had NO IDEA what to do a second time.
So after banging my head on it for a while, my brother got me inspired to do some bosses, and then I wanted to do ALLLLLL THE BOSSSEEESSSS.
But that looked awful. So I cut it down to a dozen.

Where's Ridley? I see some Metroid's forms, Mother Brain, Kraid, Drygon, Crocomire, Metroid Queen, Metroid Prime - Dark Samus, Ing and Nightmare, but I don't see Ridley.

I can see what you're saying. Proportionally speaking to the body, I think it's about right- maybe a touch shorter, but it's very distorted. Also with the body being masked in darkness, even darker to see.

Okay, lemme see if I know my Metroid bosses. Closest to Samus, youβve got Ridley, followed closely by Dark Samus. Going right, thereβs Mother Brain, Draygon, Nightmare, the Emperor Ing, Vorash (from all the comments Iβve read down here), and the SA-X. Up top, thereβs big olβ Kraid, while at the bottom, that seems to be Crocomire. The ones Iβm not getting are the little one with the red eyes just under Nightmare, and the big serpentine one next to Croc. Who are they?

The ones you missed are:
1. Under Nightmare and next to Ing is the metroid ball guardian boss from Prime 2 (I legit forget it's name)
and 2. the one next to croc is the Metroid queen. VERY distorted. On purpose. I wanted to make it feel like her teeth were practically ripping from her face. Such a crazy design for a character, I really like playing with that mega mouth of teeth

Oh, thatβs the Boost Guardian! Okay, I see it now... (Prime 2 is my favorite video game of all time, so I kinda know the bosses by heart. In fact, I just beat it again today, full 100%!)
And thatβs the Metroid Queen. Okay, I guess I see that now too. At least you admit to altering her design; itβs not a failure on your part or mine, itβs just an artistic liberty that one viewer couldnβt interpret. Iβll admit, the Queen here DOES look a lot more vicious with THOSE pearly whites. "Aw, thatβs a pretty smile." I can hear Samus muttering right now.
Anyway, thanks for clarifying who they were.
Oh, also, "Samusβ Nightmare" is a pretty fitting title. I see a few comments here that make it seem like Samus wouldnβt balk even a little by all these guys at once, but honestly, (and I get that sheβs one of the biggest badasses in gaming, I really respect her) I get the feeling that even SHE would feel daunted at the prospect of facing all these big bads all at the same time.

My idea with it is that it IS daunting for her, but she still will take them down.
I wanetd to really distort them beyond the norm, though. Metroid has some pretty nightmare inducing designs!

But if it makes you feel better, the guy i made this for (Darren of Shinesparkers) didn't notice him at first. I actually take that as a compliment because it means i distorted them pretty heavily. Nightmare though, what a messed up character.

You and just about 99% of Metroid fans. The game single handedly destroyed her character that all the previous installments worked towards building.
Also, it made Samus seem dumb in Metroid Fusion. Why would she be surprised at the Federation experiments making overpowered Metroids in Fusion if she found out that they did months before in Other M?
In Fusion, she defies the federation for what's right. In Other M, even with Adam gone, she bends over for those corrupt bastards.
Canonically, instead of needing Anthony Briggs in some Deus Ex Machina, she would have blasted the Corrupt Colonel and all federation officers who stood to oppose her and personally save MB before she was shot, or at the very least, save Melissa Bergman after telling the Colonel to F*ck off cause she's Samus Motherf*cking Aran. She annihilates planets and space stations for Christ's sake.
But nooo, let's make her a weak ass damsel in distress who needs saving by a big strong man.
