This started out as a drawing that I did of Smithers hugging Mr. Burns. I think it's one of the most adorable things I've ever drawn...sooo, I wanted to put it to some use. I made a comic strip to include the drawing in. First I sketeched out each cell (out of order, I might add) on a piece of paper, scanned it, arranged them in correct order, put it in Photoshop, used the bucket fill tool to add color, then went over it tediously in black with the pencil tool (there had to have been an quicker way to do this...). Took about three hours just to do all the stuff on the computer--the drawings themselves probably took an hour or two (lots of erasing and redrawing, of course.) Sooo, this took me a pretty long time. Let me know if "counter-pranking" makes any sense...it did to me at 3 in the morning...but a lot of stuff makes sense to me at 3 in the morning.

I'm pretty proud of it. "The Simpons" art style seems pretty simple, but to do it RIGHT it's actually sort of difficult. The first and last cells don't really look right--to me, anyway--but the rest are pretty true to the characters.

Did I mention that I love Smithers? He and Professor Frink are my favorite characters on the show. Y'know, I found an entire webpage ( [link] ) of quotes from "Simpson" episodes that allude to Smithers' sexuality--it clearly states, "Although it is unlikely the writers will ever give us a open confession, the following is a list of Smithers' innuendoes." And I think it's funny--if you don't know Smithers is gay, you either don't watch the show, a lot goes over your head, or you're just in denial I mean, do you really need the writers to confess it to you? I just think that's laughable.

Oh...and by the way...for you hardcore "Simpson" fans--I KNOW Smithers had probably hugged Mr. Burns before, and I know for a fact that he's even kissed him--just pretend that my comic occured before any of this.
