Atoya had stalked the group for well over an hour, careful to stay out of reach. She had been considering resting when the Tokotas made the decision for her. Fairly quickly the female and the piebald male plopped down in the snow for a nap. Still, the young girl waited until it seemed they were out cold. Only then did she sneak wide around the two and step into their little clearing on the hillside. Diagrams nearly immediately noticed her but kept his distance at first. Atoya tried a variety of ways to get him to come over, from whispering his name to patting her thigh as if he were a lapdog. It was only when she pulled out her small package of treats did he take a step toward her.

She tentatively tossed one in his direction. Not long after it fell into the snow did he approach and eat it. Atoya repeated this until he was only feet away. She lowered herself down onto her knees and held one out to him. He stared at her hand then folded his ears back and snorted. With a sigh she tossed two treats on the ground. As he stared at them, she pulled out her final treat and held it out to the black halfmane. "Help me."
