    Notes:

    I’ve wanted to do something like this for a while now, but never really got around to it. It’s still not a great melting effect as you can clearly tell that she’s just sinking below the floor, and the substance on the ground that replaces her is clearly just a solid object, but it’s a decent enough illusion.

    Two things that help sell the effect that I didn’t have originally were the lighting and the lattice deform. The light glowing orange like a heat lamp when she hits the button was an addition that I made after I started animating this, and having the lattice deform her as she sinks really helps it feel like she’s melting a bit, even if its not terribly convincing.

    If I can figure out how to get liquid physics working in Blender I may try to make another one of these one day. Let me know if you want to see more of this type of animation.
