Description
So this is my first tat and is something that is very dear to my heart.

The whole point behind getting this tattoo is simply to have a constant reminder that life is worth living and no matter how hard life gets, you will always have the support of your family and friends and can crawl back out of that dark place.

For me, this symbolizes 6 years of depression. It started back when I was 12. Some say that's too young to understand true depression. To those people I say you don't know what you're talking about until you experience it.

By the time I was 14 I'd reached what I felt was the limit. I wanted life to be over. After several attempts I got the day where I would have actually gone through with it...but then my sister caught me. She saved my life. Seeing the look on her face made something *click*. She is the dove in my tattoo because she gave me hope and new life.

The tree in the tattoo represents me. A chance at rebirth and rejuvenation and the ability to keep growing and change the outcome of things in my life instead of just dying and giving up. The twelve music notes represent the 12 people in my life who helped me through this time and I owe my life to them. No need to name names, they know who they are.
