Description
An illustration for the Pawn card in Android Netrunner game by FFG that I did near the beginning of the year. Since the card has been thoroughly spoiled, I can finally post it.This figure is not like the rest.
Corel Painter 9, Wacom Intuos 3, a couple of days.

I received a play-mat at the Colorado Android Netrunner Regional Championship for placing in the top8. The play-mat features this art, and is by far my favorite piece of art to have been placed on a mat.
Pawn was featured as a card, and the art is very small on the card. On the 14"x24" playmat, however, it is absolutely gorgeous.Β It appears as an apotheosis- is that what was intended? I feel like the Pawn is just about to ascend, trade out for a different piece.
I appreciate the circuitry, the checkered walls, the White Queen derezzing beneath the Knights stareΒ and most of all the swirling red streams throughout the Pawn.
