They are rather dump although they have the Core (imperfect) and demonstrating some activity (running, biting, digging, so on). They belong the kingdom Plantae.

They have no bones, their limbs can rotate rather unnaturally... but a running stump with a brain is already something unnatural, right?

When cold times come, they hibernate, burying their legs in the ground and closing all their "face" holes.

They can eat mushrooms and insects that will fit in their mouth. It's better not to put one's hand there either. Ground and minerals are also good for them. And long-term starving is fine.

Resin and sap start flowing when the bark is injured.
