I'm sure there's an much easier way to fill in every single selection so yeah, I actually fill in every selection with the bucket toolAND I AM ALSO NOT DEAD just grinding heads and working on group things ;;
so if this tutorial is actually useful to anyone just HERE YOU GO --- I also don't mind if this is distributed w/o credit because this is just some knowledge goodie so //SHRUGS
also, this is dedicated to you, star bby I LOVE YOU TOO

I must be doing this wrong since the bucket with selection source also filled in the areas behind my writing. I have to go back and select the writing in the original layer, erase the background from outlined color layer, then hide/delete the original layer. A few extra steps but it ended up working afterwards!

Yeah, this is a sorta rushed toot that I may have to brush up, but I'm glad you found it useful nonetheless!

There is a much easier way to fill in all the letters - with your selection still in place, get your brush tool and make it as big as possible, and simply pass over all the letters.
