Description
My most successful photo of a hummingbird in flight.Very difficult little buggars to capture properly with a handheld camera, zoomlens and insufficiant lighting.
Canada, British Columbia, near Banff National Park.

Thank you so muck for the comment. It's nice to get an elaborate one once in while.
Hummingsbirds are way too hard to capture- I'm not really satisfied with this photo, to be honest.
How advanced a Polaroid do you have? It takes a crazy high shutter speed to capture a hummingbird.

sounds like a great trip down south to CA you had.
elaborate rather than a normal simplistic one, you deserve far more than i can ever conjure up
but absolutely no problem, my pleasure
well I have an old sx-70......pretty good fopr what i do you can see, but in truth i can shoot a hummingbird and imagine it stayed in the frame.
Caught some seagulls that made it.
so no luck on that score, but i keep trying
best from the west

That was the sweetest comment ever!
I had a look at your work some time ago- I've been rather busy moving- and I think it's great. I love how you manipulate the photos; it's very creative, I don't think I've seen anything like it before.
And keep hunting those hummingbirds!

It was easy..a beautiful shot.
So reminds me of my father down in Venice (So. Cal) when he is hand watering his 100 year old fig tree on his property, has the hose spraying, early morning sun splattering against the mercury mirrored water, reflections here and there, and every so often a humming bird appears and hovers before my father at waist level. The bird sort of dances in the spray of water, enjoying the bath. My father staring and so enjoying the experience. This goes on for maybe 5-10 minutes, until the bird arcs up in an almost graceful 3/4 circle, maybe saying, "So long buddy," and is gone as fast as he arrived. The bird moving around like connected to an electric socket but all the while seemly communing with my father.
I have been lucky to see this a couple of times, but mostly know it from the tales my father has told me.
Thanks for the nice words on my photos. I do have fun doing them, just the other day in San Francisco here shot maybe 10-12 Polaroids. Had a blast.
hope your move goes well and the humming birds hover near you in your new area.
best from the western bird watching zone
close to the valley of oblivion
between the stars and the shadow of the moon

Awww! Thank you so much. I'm so happy you like this shot. Hummingbirds are so hard to photograph and adding the setting sun, I think the result is alright. But I'd love to give it another try one day and get the shot right

Unfortunately we don't have hummingbirds in Denmark
So it'll probably take a while before I get another chance.
