Thanks for sticking with me these past... what, 8 months? Wow... awesome. It's been awesome, and here's hoping you stick around for the next 50 bajillion chapters! Or maybe I'll be pretentious and start calling them "episodes". IDK.
Don't know when I'll start Chapter 2 -- I'd like to do some character art and planning before I start it, but inspiration and productivity might strike me anyway. xD; Oh well. We'll see how that goes!

Part of the reason this page took so long was because I had to go through all the entries and do some judging. It was really hard... the entries were all fantastic and charming. I really liked the variety I got, especially! Everyone envisions Ash differently and it was cool to see how everyone pictured him in a classroom setting.
In the end though, I've decided that the winner is...
Congratulations! While all the entries were really good, 's writing style was witty and smooth, and despite the hyperactive pacing and short attention span of the narrator it was still easy to follow the storytelling. He was able to include humor, gross humor, action, character development, a short moment of horror (Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn!) and even a dash of romance at the end and yet was able to keep it both cohesive and within the general, light-hearted attitude of the story. :3
So, good sir, either you, your OC, or your PokΓ©sona gets a short, minor cameo in chapter 2, along with ~CyMoahk 's as well (since he won the math contest on page 13).
AWESOME!
And all you guys who didn't get to enter or didn't win, don't worry, there will be other chances down the road. :3

I love this page, and the one just before it, just to see Oliver who gets tormented and hated by pokemon all the time, to finally find one that doesnt attack him all that emotion is just conveyed so well. You cant help wanting to jump for joy for oliver here.
At the same time though their's the turmoil with Ash, he's stuck as a pikachu, everyone thinks he's dead but at the same he's making Oliver so happy right now.
I just really enjoy this set up, I mean sure Ash getting turned into a pokemon not quite a new thing, but i love how he's made out to be the pokemon that Oliver can find that doesnt hate him and i just LOVE IT!
I really hope you continue this comic its so amazing and i look forward to seeing more of Ash's emotions on being a pikachu and Oliver's emotions as he deals with Ash's death and being the sole survivor as well as finally having a pokemon to call his own.

Hehe, I watched this comics, and I realy wonder, do there is some sort of dark aura, evil master or uncnown technology in main heroe that pokemons want to kill him.
ANd more funny thinks is how pokemons can blow up buildings, vechicles, cut rocks and even destroy tanks, and yet, they hardly can hurt people.

By the way, since Matchamp can crush rocks and carry somethink 30 times more heavy than they are, and your character beat him, do this mean he can destroy school if he would want too.
Or you put some power limits to pokemons in your comic to make it more realistic and to make more sense than in the anime ?

The machamp is still much stronger than he is, but Oliver is a fighter and knows where to hit to take a big guy down quickly. He went for the neck/chin, not the chest. And when he did the arbok whip, I'm not sure if it was clear, but arbok's fangs were sinking into Machamp, and I had the bubbles there like he was poisoned.

A series like this treads the fine line of reaching into Mary Sue/Gary Stu territory, but I am glad this didn't do that. It's a different kind of Pokemon story in a seemingly different version of the Anime's world. I can't say that I'm a fan of the anime or the characters (stopped watching after it became "same thing every day") but this looks like it could be interesting.
As stated earlier, going to "Ash as Pikachu" route is kinda something that's done a lot. Oliver seems to be out of sync with the pokemon world, but it that's ok because of his odd "condition". Looking forward to see how this goes.

Yeah, and I've got to be careful, because there's still plenty of time for Oliver to tip over into the Mary-Sue category. 
And yeah, the anime world is mostly the same, I'm just... tilting the focus a little bit, and thinking about things maybe a little too in-depth xD;;
It started out as another "Ash is a Pikachu" story, but I just kept adding little details here and there until it almost became a deconstruction of your typical "turned into your favorite pokemon" fanfic. It helps that I'm not really "into" the idea of turning into an animal like a lot of my readers are -- the idea actually kinda creeps me out, so I can work that fear into my story for a more dramatic effect :3
Still, in the meantime, Ep 2 is gonna be a bit more light-hearted xD; The rest of the comic... well, it'll have its ups and downs

Also I realised after posting this I should've meant psychological horror. Not surreal horror. The latter is for bizarre, too weird for weird things; the former is things are not creepy on the surface, but through the atmosphere, actions and attitudes.
