RP Guidelines and Limitations

Name: Rust
Sex: Female
Age: Young Adult (Deceased as of October 2021)

Bloodline(s): Dominant:Timber, Valley Recessive: Marsh, Forest-Steppe
Height: 29" (31" mature height)
Weight: 62lbs (95lbs mature weight)

Physical Description: As a pup, she's average of proportions with tall ears and dense fur. Her fur will grow out long and elegant like her grandma Maria and she will gain a more leggy appearance as she grows as well. Her tail will also grow in long fur, giving it a long and elegant appearance as well. Her ruff and britches will become plush with enough care as they will grow out the fur though the rest of her fur will remain dense and shorter. She isn't very powerful - lacking the broad shoulders of her parents or the genetics to support a muscular form. After the attack on her by her mother, Rust suffered severe scarring and a broken hind leg which is no longer able to be used. Rust now hobbles on three legs - her broken leg only being able to be moved at the knee.
Rare Traits/Birth Defects: Useless hind leg - excessive scarring; PTSD
  Related Deficiencies:
- Unable to stand or put weight on right hind leg. cannot move it past the knee. Usually swings it to move the leg.
- Struggles to walk as she must hop on one hind leg heavily so it doesn't hit the ground.
- When sitting, damaged hind leg sticks straight up in the air.
- Leg is very shriveled and dark with signs of cellular death/solidification. Needs an amputation in order to avoid sepsis.
- Ghost pains through scars, especially on the mauled leg. Touching the leg brings about severe pain in the areas close that are still healthy (thigh/hip)
- Shoulder scar makes moving head difficult and painful as the scar cannot stretch very much.
- Frightened of every wolf she meets at first. Will attempt to retreat if possible or go apoplectic when confronted/cornered
- Fears teeth/mouths of wolves.
- Fears being attacked again.

Personality:
Gentle/Friendly: Small but friendly, Rust wants to make friends with whomever she can gain the attention of. Being a bit of a weak wolf to begin with, she's also gentle - not one to be thrown into a rage or fight. Even when playing, she's gentle without pawing or biting harder than a feather-touch.
Loving: Born into the chaos of a mother who hated her and an absent father, Rust would be expected to develop just as darkly. However she is doubly desperate to cling to anyone who shows love and attention - and is ready to give muzzle kisses to anyone who would let her get close enough without being bitten for being too close.
Thoughtful/Quiet: Rust is the kind who will think first before she acts for fear of being hurt for even speaking up. So if she chooses to talk, she will make sure she has thought out fully what she wishes to share with the other wolf before divulging any information. Otherwise, she keeps to herself and is extremely quiet - sometimes she can be mistaken for a mute by a new wolf because of her unnerving silence.
Empathetic/Supportive: Sensitive to the plight of others, Rust is more likely to understand where another wolf is coming from in situations of abuse or emotional pain. She isn't the type to sympathize with others by saying "well at least..." or "but look on the bright side..." Instead, she is the type to sit and listen to the pain of others, sharing the weight or relating she understands and sitting quietly alongside them as silent support.
Fearful/Submissive: Rust is a wolf who will readily drop onto her back and expose her belly the second danger or aggression is shown her way. Not bold at all and this fear being backed up by a weak body makes Rust a feeble wolf when it comes to being a loner or good working hunter or fighter. If she's given the chance, she'll flee rather than fight if she could help it. Any sort of aggression or anger towards Rust will invoke this fearful and submissive behavior for she would rather placate than be hurt at all.
Unfaithful/Unreliable: With a yellow belly personality, Rust isn't the type to stick around and have your back if things go south. Rust will abandon anyone who is with her even if they were in danger because of her own fear and weakness. Rust also has little trust in those closest to her because of her mother - and she would readily give up a confidante to another for discipline if she thought it would protect her own skin.
Closed-off: Her bad experiences and her own personal demons keep Rust from divulging much about herself or even of her own feelings - keeping everyone at tail's length. This causes the small wolf to spiral into a mentally deranged state if it continues due to the lack of relieving stress and pain. Everything stays bottled up inside and even if one gains this wolf's tenuous trust, it is unlikely she will ever divulge any information about herself to another.

Observant but Secretive: A quiet mouth leads to hungry eyes. Rust has the propensity to be extremely observant of her environment as a natural defensive reaction to her upbringing. However this observant behavior is lost on the young wolf as she will not divulge anything she learns with another wolf. In fact, she could see an attack coming on her pack but would simultaneously just watch them come - not sharing this critical information with anyone around..

Pre-Group History:
Ronan was a predatory type, taking advantage of the moment Bangkai was in heat and mating with the female in order to relieve her "pains" in his own words. He left soon after, leaving behind a lasting remnant of himself with Bangkai as they began to become pregnant. The pain, hunger and other side effects of pregnancy left Bangkai less than pleased with the entire situation and if they could find the wolf that had caused this, they were sure to make the red wolf pay. And when the news that they were indeed pregnant finally hit, Bangkai was sent into a downward spiral - while Ronan was left none the wiser that he had pups of his own somewhere out in the Lunar Sanctuary.

When the time came, Kai hid away for the labor which was painful and excrutiating for a wolf of their size - as well as the size of the pups with Ghost circling nearby. With hours of agony, two pups were finally born - a plump male and a smaller, weaker female. The little female shivered in the cold, her jaws opening in a silent cry before bird talons pushing her close caused her to finally cough up the embryonic fluid in her lungs, crying weakly. It was a miracle she survived but Ghost was determined to care for them as best as he could keep Bangkai in line. Soon the little pup nursed even if Kai paid her no heed. The small pup was soon quietly suckling as Ghost kept Kai from lashing at them in their first moments of life.

As time would wear on, Rory would grow strong and big while little Rust would lag painfully behind - a clear runt of the litter. The pup would learn quickly to cling to Ghost and Rory for care and attention as well as protection - though with Kai as her birth mother, it was an uphill battle.
