Woody wasn't smiling when I drew this, but it sort of became necessary. Nothing's so bad that a sweet dog nearby can't make it a little better.I'm pretty proud of how all this color turned out. I don't do a lot of complicated lighting (not that this is exactly complicated, but it is for me), and when I do it right it sure feels good. The wave cup is from an old drawing of mine, and I recycle that pattern a lot.
I have a great dog, a Shar-pei named Oscar. He's a total meatloaf, and he's got these big, sad eyes, but he really smiles when he's happy. He and I have had a weird relationship. I'm not a dog person, but I am, at least, an Oscar person. He knows when I'm sad and he plops down next to me. I feel like he knows he can't do much, but at least he can share in my blues. I bet Slinky's like that. They've been through a lot together, those two.

Now you mention it, Oscar was pretty easy to train, even the stuff I never formally trained him to do. Aside from occasional head-scritches and food, Oscar demands that he sit his wrinkled butt in the sunshine every day.

This is cute, but I never saw slinky as Woody's dog. Maybe it's because he talks, but I saw him as another toy and an equal of Woody in every way. So this is cute, but it irks me in that it appears to knock Slinky down a few pegs to the level of pet of toy. I don't mean to criticize though, because I think you're awesome. That was just the first thought that came into my head when I saw this.
Artistically it's gorgeous as always and I love the detail of the print on the pen holder

I guess I don't see Slinky as higher or lower on any totem than Woody. I don't see my dog as any less worthy an animal than me. Heck, he deserves to be treated better because he never does anything wrong. But Slinky is a dog, and he does care about Woody. Why wouldn't he come and curl up with him and try to misery-loves-company him a little?

This is so sweet. Captures their relationship so well. 
Animals tend to know how to cheer us up. They know when we're feeling down, sick, or anything. They can't do much but lay down next us...but sometimes that's all we need.

Now that school has started for my younger siblings again, I'm usually the only one home in the morning, and my cats have a tendency to walk on me or settle next to me while I'm on my laptop; it's super cute and it makes me feel loved, even though when my siblings are home they could care less where I am XD

Perfect! I remember watching the first Toy Story in theaters ... I watched everyone and when it was released Toy Story 3 does not believe that was the end of the story. I loved its design and style that you used to do it.
