Description So this is what my new journal design looks like. I made this after request from my friend Ida *mizzdraconia . With some little changings it will also applied on her stock account and her E-Magazine *Future-Art-Magazine . Since this is still a work in progress I can't show you this design in action.

I hope you like this work, Ida!

Wish I knew more of CSS because you make me want to decorate mine. *sigh*

But this is beautiful, much like the many others that you have created.

Hey, do you think you could explain how to use these things? Like I've mentioned before, I've never used these things in the past.

You do you mean the CSS coding or the design itself? I am using Photoshop to make it.

I knew it wasn't perfect when I gave you the finished files because there are always problems with Internet Explorer. But there was absolutely no time left anymore to adjust the code. Your changings fixed some problems but generated new ones. Just wait a while, we'll make your journal looking perfect with time.

Sorry, this code was only for Ida. Good the Winter template made it for you as well. But please put the mood box on top to make the footer graphic visible. Just check this option with mouse click on your journal update page.

IdaLarsenArt [2006-11-18 21:40:21 +0000 UTC]

Oh btw the 'texture form' above the 'buttons' on the 'final html coding' has a white background that interfears with the title (look in my journal) and the buttons are too small and can't keep the text within the box... is that easily fixed or will it be a problem?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Lilyas In reply to IdaLarsenArt [2006-11-23 16:33:50 +0000 UTC]

What browser do you use? If it is IE this browser can't show transparency in pictures. The decoration/ornament on the left is a .png-file showing up no white backgrounds. It's a solution to merge this part together with the header graphic but now the ornament can't move independent anymore.

Next problem is the headline/title of the journal. The way you changed the code your journal now looks like this (with Mozilla): [link]
In my opinion the text must go higher back to its "textbox" like it is seen in my journal: [link]
(Sceenshot also made using Mozilla browser)
Furthermore you changed the size of the header. But now it doesn't fit to the background correctly anymore. Please let me do the changings for you if you want the header smaller because it's better to work with the .psd-file

Also I see there are some problems with the link texts, in IE they don't show up correctly. Well, the whole design looks crappy with Internet Explorer! I think I have to do some basic changings in the code. But please don't forget to say me what browser you use!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

IdaLarsenArt In reply to Lilyas [2006-11-23 16:59:15 +0000 UTC]

yup I use IE.. thats the problem then

Yeah I tried to fix it all the best I could But I would love for you to do it properly and in the same size you did it originally

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Lilyas In reply to IdaLarsenArt [2006-11-23 18:46:34 +0000 UTC]

Hm, what do you think? Would you change the browser for a better viewing of your journal? IE is totally f...ed up, my possibilities are getting very small if I have to adjust your journal to IE!

I must do some ad: Mozilla Firefox is a very popular, fast and modern browser with lots of advantages. It has a tabbed interface, includes a pop-up blocker, multiple search tools, security features and it's stable and free. For more fun and efficient browsing there are a lot of useful addons for Firefox. Read more reviews about Firefox here: [link]

Please try out this browser to see the difference, sweetie! The download is very fast and the installation easy. --->download

I just downloaded and installed it now So far so good I hope there won't be any problems

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Lilyas In reply to IdaLarsenArt [2006-11-23 19:55:10 +0000 UTC]

There won't be any problems definitely! Trust me! Just try and let me know what you think, ok?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

IdaLarsenArt In reply to Lilyas [2006-11-23 21:07:25 +0000 UTC]

I will

I was wondering if you plan to use the same design in general for the *Future-Art-Magazine version?

If so maybe you could incorporate my piece [link] in it (the topper instead of the Mme Butterfly)? and maybe scale the green colour to blueish/greys

the round one you could just leave as is, as with all the practical layout too.. I like all that as it is for all my accounts...

these minor details would just be to distinguish between my accounts and the blue tones would go well to replace the current tones of the magazine layout

I'd love that!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Lilyas In reply to IdaLarsenArt [2006-11-23 21:19:06 +0000 UTC]

Alright, "The Prophecy" is defined for the FAM header and and the blueish color for the layout. What color and graphic would you like to have for your stock account? Red/grey and a stock photo?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

IdaLarsenArt In reply to Lilyas [2006-11-24 07:16:34 +0000 UTC]

okay great!

hmm... yes a red/grey tone would be cool I think for my stock yes

Btw I'd like to offer you a print of my work if you want? as a thank you for all the work you have done for me? any one from my gallery you'd like, and I will print it an 8x12 inch and sign it too Just note me with your adress and choice

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Lilyas In reply to IdaLarsenArt [2006-11-24 14:33:56 +0000 UTC]

Aw, that's so sweet! All I do I do with love! I will have a look on your prints and inform you about my choice. Thank you, my dear!

How is it with your new Firefox, btw?

IdaLarsenArt In reply to Lilyas [2006-11-24 16:09:57 +0000 UTC]

great!!

btw do you do websites? One day I would love to have my website made with this layout from my journal!

I am pleased with Firefox so far! So its all good

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Lilyas In reply to IdaLarsenArt [2006-11-24 16:52:55 +0000 UTC]

Oki doki! He he!

Well, sure I can do websites! It's all html and CSS. If you look at Nina Larsen's website there is also a lot of flash stuff. Things are moving and you can make sound..... this is all great and very playful but I don't use it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

IdaLarsenArt In reply to Lilyas [2006-11-24 17:02:02 +0000 UTC]

Ohh cool... is there a link to it so I can go see?

What would you charge to make my site [link] look like that journal?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Lilyas In reply to IdaLarsenArt [2006-11-24 17:22:10 +0000 UTC]

Well, your website looks quite good. But no problem, we can make it look like your journal! Sorry, there is no website online made by me. Merde, there should be at least my own site!

And the cost? Hm, I don't know. In this case I would say what ever you are able to give for that. Let's talk about that later, ok?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tell that to my daughter But thank you, it's not hard to be nice, frankly I think it's harder to be deliberately mean or just plain mean. So I don't do that, besides, with all the great things to do and see who has time to be anything but nice?
