Description
Edit: Re-uploaded the download file. Finally my first CSS journal template is available! I optimized my first design "Winter" for generell use in DeviantART journals. I hope you enjoy!
Live journal: [link]
Quick Install version: [link]
-----------------------------------------------------------
How to apply the code:
1. Download the .zip-file and unpack.
2. Read instructions.txt for precise informations.
3. Please credit me in your journal!
I also included a blank titlebar graphic (it's a .psd-file, if you can't open it note me) for your custom title texts. I added the font you need for the text as well. Install it on your computer (system control-->fonts) if you don't have it yet.
Another important info: Please, if you are applying the code set the moodbox ON TOP of your journal!!! Otherwise your layout will look awful. To do this go to the moods and select "Show these at the top" on your Journal Update page. A lot of people don't follow these instructions in the text file.
NOTE: You are allowed to use this layout for your journal and if you wish you can tweak the code and the graphics for your own custom purposes. I'd appreciate it to see your result but at least it is required to give me credits. Thank you!

How did you do those wavy gradients on the top, if I may ask?

Thank you. I used a wallpaper for it. This can be done with programs like Photoshop.

Ah you see, it looked familiar to me, but I didn't quite grasp how they made it.

Wow, you still use the journal header I made for you a couple of month ago! And now you like this CSS design, too!
Funny, both have the same colour sheme! Seems we like blue, huh?
Thanks for commenting!

That is because you completely missed to add the html part. Have a look a the file called "WinterCUSTOM_HTML.txt" included in the zip-file and copy the text to your journal box field. After that replace the default text with your own.

Great job. This is lovely. If I ever get a subscription for D.A., I'll definitely look to use one of your templates.
The designs look flawless, and integrate so well. Wonderful.

Yes, I would love to use this!!! thank You so much! I can't wait to see more in the future!
You know? When I looked at the others in that contest, I wondered why yours didn't get first or second place. the ones that were picked were not as good as the ones you did, although they were good too.

You are making great compliments, thank you so much! It means very much to me! I didn't expect that someone find my work worth to be on top of all entries. To be honest I was a little dissappointed to have lost against those ones that won except the first place. The first winner was a real profi work! I guess most of the judges were male, little appreciation for artistic details and more colours. That's life!
Thank you very very much for the fav as well!

Your so welcome, and I'm very glad! Well, its true, I found you site searching for CSS in the search bar, and both your CSS were some of the best I saw on several pages, thats why I was like HUH? When I saw that yours didn't come in first or atleast 2nd place.
Mabey thats why, they were males...LOL....he he shhhhh....

Freut mich sehr, dass Du das sagst! Das Blau ist schΓΆn, aber es war schwierig, das Ganze dezent genug zu gestalten. Das ist mit dieser Farbe recht schwierig.

I only want something dark, something like charcoal grey background and purple text colour. And just based the lay out on my current journal.
Can you make me a simple one Lily?
I will credit you for sure!
If not that's okay too. I understand.

Dennis, I would do almost anything for you!
Some further instructions?
π: 0 β©: 1
Erosa In reply to Lilyas [2006-11-13 13:02:39 +0000 UTC]
"Some further intstructions"... How do you blend an image as part of the background, say like the half part, the upper part of the background is an image and below is the colour background? Is that possible?
Anyways, you better much understand how this works in CSS lay out.
Thank you Lily!
