Description
This is the second piece I did for the Draw Me and Avenger Jam III: A-Next! on the CBR forums. This objective of this Jam was design the hypothetical members of a second generation of the Avengers, by creating the offspring of two randomly paired characters. This is Sarah Rogers (codename: Eagle), the daughter of Captain America and Firebird. Her story is here.
As a random note, Firebird was largely lost in this design. Captain America's design elements were definitely more prominent. I knew I wanted to replace Cap's star emblem with an eagle, as it was the obvious blend of patriotism and a big, symbolic bird. However, the golden eagle breastplate combined with the red/blue/gold color scheme and several of Firebird's trademark design pieces (such as the tiara) really just turned this into Wonder Woman. It took me awhile to undo that. Unfortunately, the tiara was a casualty of the process.
Photoshop CS5.5 with a Wacom Intuos 3.

the way you brought the white in in the boots balances the look. I like it!

Loved this entry. The pose is has a gentle authoritative quality to it that her father lacked.
I also love how you hid the feet, I need to remember to do that.

Feet are weird, mystifying things. I knew that was the big flaw in the original entry... so I solved it the only way I knew how: add more rocks! Ha.
And thank you for the comment on the pose, especially. I'm really glad it came through that way. That's definitely what I was hoping to portray... a softer, quieter version of Steve Rogers.
