I really wished they would've touched a bit more on these kinds of subjects. I get the show was originally for kids, but they could have really expanded the range by including moments like this rather than just his issues with the Doom Patrol.

maybe that's why he tries to be funny all the time, to try to cloud his mind with humor covering up the sadness he's got built up. i feel like that beast boy didn't have a lot of character development in the original show, not as much as the others did. it would've been interesting to see someone finally being fed up with his humor, but then he reveals why he does it. if anyone is a fanfic writer, write this stuff down. beast boy needs character development, maybe this time, it will be raven to cheer him up, like he tried for her.

It is stated in his comic-bio that his humor is part of his psychological defense mechanism. They could have done really a lot more with his character than just issues with the Doom Patrol; after all, I know I wondered how he got there in the first place when I first saw it.

Deep. Beast boy got the worst. Shure he lost his parents but evreone seems to forget his other parents.Garfield had Been kkidnapped by a circus man an called the anamel man and wiped every time he dicobad. And his next parent was his uncle that was mean and abused poor Garfield. But one day he found out about Garfield's parents will and that thay gave all of it to Garfield. FFearous by this he tryed to kill Garfield, before he could do this however Garfield trend into a mouse and escaped. And his next parents kkidnap Garfield and force him to steal money and rob banks. Final Garfield fond the doom patrol whear he got his name Beast boy. How ever beast boy and the capten did not get along and in a month he was kicked out. Some time later he met the teen titans and are his permonet family. Now beast boy went through all that at 5 years old, he dident have time to be a kid and is why he is so immature. He looks like he has gotten over it but he hasn't, not even close. He has put on a mask to fack his depression and trys to make his teem life laugh and has not told his teem mats his past(he dose not want them to pity him or feel bad.) and wants to keep it that way.

Man, BB doesn't deserve that. Yes, a lot of heroes end up having tragic pasts, but it's what they choose to do despite the pain that make them who they are.

I remember reading that, like Robin, Beast Boy also lost his parents too. I feel sad that loving parents are taken away and the child is left alone in the world. It's a horrible feeling to have because it feels like part of your life is taken from you. Even Beast Boy recognizes that there are some things in life that you can never forget, and probably never will. Robin will certainly never forget about his parents.
The only thing you carry with you are the memories of the good times. That much is something to remember.

When I watch or read stuff like this, you're not just seeing a cartoon or something; you "feel" something with the characters. I believe that's why people love watching shows whether it's Teen Titans, or anything.

Yeah, like he tells the Titans about how he still thinks Jademist is still alive and when he told the Doom Patrol they didn't believe him. Then the others find her and she tells his and her backstory.

Beastboy's real name is Garfield Logan and those are his parents Mark and Marie Logan. They were Scientist in Africa. So Gar once went into the forest and got bitten by rabid monkey and get this disease sakutia and was about to die. His parents then made an antidote that saved his life but turned his skin green, hair green and the power to change into animals. And unfortuanley his parents died in a boat accident and he's been adopted by Mento and Elasti-Girl
