Normally I would just post my speedpaints on tumblr, but seeing as I haven't posted anything in almost a month, there you go.Just some messy, sketchy, sherlock goodness for you to enjoy.
This started off as a hands study, so if anyone would like to critique, that would be helpful, thanks!

Nice work! I noticed a few things here that could be revisited, if you want to go back: the scribble on the neck under the chin is just a smidge too light for that shadow. and there isn't quite enough definition in the top lip curve on the left. The curl of the top Cupid's bow is a little too soft there; I'd rework that just a bit to bring out a more definite shape. The brow line on the left also could be defined a little, it almost looks like his eyebrow is floating - a wee little shade line would make a massive difference!
Overall, this is an excellent speed painting - I particularly admire the attention you put into the hands - nice play of light, the fingernails well-rendered (those are really difficult to do, by the way) and the eyes are quite piercing. For a speed painting, this is a rockin' job. The colours are spot on and really show us his sense of space nicely with the subtly dramatic lighting. Well done.
