For =Candy2021 's Double Take Project [link]My take on ~LolliPopSuicide 's Alice in Zombieland pic [link]
I love taking part in the Double Take Project, as I'm the sort of person who needs to be pushed to try different things.
LolliPopSuicide has a fantastic gallery, with a wide variety of different styles and themes, it was very difficult to pick one to draw myself. Alice in Zombieland stood out to me as it has a lot of beautiful elements that I don't even try myself. Backgrounds, multiple characters, silhouettes, panorama, men in hats, etc.
It was a joy to work on, although I couldn't hope to capture all of the wonderful parts from the original, but I'm very happy with what I've ended up with

Nice work with it. Maybe I ought to hand Alice a weapon.

OH DAMN! I hadn't even thought about an American McGee's Alice movie... That would have been so PERFECT! I loved that game so much, it was dark, twisted, nightmarish perfection!
“When is a polo mallet like a billy club? Whenever you want it to be” JOY!
Thank you so much for the great comment. The original drawing was so cool I had to choose it!

Great work!

Thank you so much for the wonderful comment! I am so glad that you like how this turned out! And don’t worry about the speed of comment lol The background was strange to work on, it used a bunch of tricks I’d not tried before, but I’m very happy that everyone likes how it looks! And thank you
I think your Alice looks hot too
I didn’t think I could make the stripperiffic Victorian skirt you used look anywhere near as good, so the torn dress was my compromise!

Omg that's awesome you got to try out new tricks! And the Bg is really amazing to boot! Yes I really love your take on this piece. ^__^ And it makes me happy that you were willing to challenge yourself.
Lol... Stripperiffic! I'm gonna have to steal that word. lol No I am really really love the creative solution you used for her skirt!

Thank you so much! It always means a lot to me knowing I’ve not disappointed the original artist on these Double Takes You had so many great drawings to choose from, but I’m glad I picked one with so much I’ve not tried before
Thank you again! I love her skirt too. And I need to use ‘stripperiffic’ more often too!

Wow, this is quite an impressive piece you did. I really enjoy your rendition of her piece. You really outdid yourself here! I really love the attention to detail, the colouring, and of course the composition. Excellent work done!

I second ~zombielily I would LOVE to see this bigger! I feel like I'm missing out on all the neat little details!
this is STUNNING! when I first saw it I was like " did he recycle the BG?" theres no rule aganist it, but I was disappointed until I looked closer and OH SNAP it's all you! its THAT GREAT! I live the BG you did a stunning job on those silhouettes I am SO PROUD OF YOU for going above and beyond the call o duty and challenging yourself! now THATS what I like to see in the project! people picking things that would normally drive them up the wall!

Thank you both for asking I’ve uploaded a bigger version. The download should have the full sized drawing with all its details and flaws
I know what you mean about the background. It’s hard to tell how different they are until you have them both open It really wasn’t an easy drawing to do for the project. But I loved every moment of it, and I’m so pleased that people like how it turned out!
As I said in my comment, doing something different or challenging is a big part of why I love your double take project

I agree with zombie Lily that this was quite an ambitious piece to pick, but you really rocked it! And it really did look like the original in the thumbnail, but loving how you snuck your style in there!

Woohoo! Thank you so much I would like to try drawing in her style some time, it can produce some beautiful work. But I like how this drawing looks filtered through my style

This is great!! I agree that this is a fantastic piece for you to try, as its not only challenging but you have multiple characters and a lot of neat background effects!
I love how you did the background, when I saw this as a thumbnail I actually thought it was hers just updated or submitted to a group I watch. Mostly BECAUSE of the background and how dead on it is!
I also love how you did Alice in your style, I see you've been watching yourself with facial angles and placement ! Thats excellent and I love how you did the pose and colouring too! My only critique is to make the image a bit bigger, as its tiny on my computer : <

Thank you so much for the wonderful comment! I always want to push myself with these double-takes if I have the time. And this one had a lot of thing I’ve not tried before
I know what you mean about the thumbnails I’m glad I pulled off the affect and atmosphere of the original’s background
And thank you so much for that. Its not a pose or angle I’ve drawn before, and it took a lot more editing and re-sketching than most, but I’m happy with how she turned out The download version is bigger... but I have an even bigger version I could put up too. Thank you again.
