Ah, a fellow January birthday. sigh I want to make a Garnet Gemsona myself, but it's the thought of needing to make a Ruby and Sapphire in order to do so that's putting me off from it. Especially since we don't know if fusions also come in single-gem forms and such.

Other people have done non-fusion Garnets :0 It's mostly opinion-based, and even if you did a fusion based you don't necessarily have to do Ruby/Saph, you could do Ruby/other tiny blue gem or Saph/tiny red gem or even a different pair altogether!
(For example, I made an Alexandrite that's a fusion of Amethyst and Aquamarine!)
