And here we are - the Final Mothra in my Mothra Month wave. Just in time for the end of the month. And as I'm sure all of you can see, this is a thinly veiled update of the Aqua Mothra Sprite I did a few years back. Does this mean that a proper remake of that sprite is on the horizon? ...No, it doesn't. Never expect anything from me. But here it is - Mothra Pisces. I really love the colors and textures I added here. To me, they just work.
One final note; the tail...It stemmed from necessity. I was sort of displeased with the "tail-fin" that came with my original sprite, and plus, the lower fin completely covered it, making it unnecessary. I originally wanted to fold the bottom fin up onto the upper wing, but it blocked too much of the wing design than I wanted. So, I instead decided to improvise and gave this Mothra a new variant; a Manta Tail.

As variant as the Mothra tribes are, there are none so unique as the Mothra Pisces. Somehow, these Mothra evolved to live underwater. Their two sets of wings act as flippers. Two variants have been found; some have a fin at the end of their abdomen to help propel them through the water, and others have a long tail similar to a Manta Ray. Their sleek, streamlined design allows them to move swiftly through water. But they are not unable to still fly – they are as comfortable in the air as they are in the sea. Because of these unique abilities, they are useful for corralling fish into nets, confronting underwater threats, and sneaking behind enemy lines undetected. It is rumored that the first of their kind made their cocoons on unstable foundations, that eventually fell into the water. The conditions altered their metamorphosis to adapt to the environment. Others believe that these powers were a gift from the Water Spirits. Regardless of the reason, they are a most unique Mothra type.
