You would be right! Wow, you have a good eye for these things.

And thank you so much!

I was happy to see a Constantine who WASN'T Keanu Reeves.

And, if you were really being fan-geeky, you would have based your picture off Sting, like the creators based Constantine off him.

Great work, btw.

Nice, glad you used the comic version, to me at least he's more John Constnatine than Reeves was, not that Reeves didn't give a good performance. I just like this version better. Good job.

Amen! It's *not* the half-ass Keanu version. Keanu as Constantine? Great job!

bowie-lover [2006-12-14 00:06:09 +0000 UTC]

yeah. (i'm sorry, I read through a few of your comments) if his face a bit rounder he would look a lot less like keanu. and yes. that is how people think of him. It makes me extremely depressed. if you search John Constantine on this site, 3/4 atleast are of Keanu. It's gross. I like this though. It's from one of the few that wasn't drawn by Michael Fruccin, right????? lets see.... is it from Original Sins?

Unless I am mistaken, the ref pic you used is from Part one of The Books of Magic. I'm in the middle of reading it, I saw the panel and thought "Hmm, that looks familiar."

beautiful, beautiful piece, by the way. I miss traditional art...

YES. Man, you are good. I love that series. Thank you so much, also. There's something very appealing about traditional art (creating something from scratch that way often makes you love it more), though most of us try out digital.

Doesn't look like Keanustine in the least, no worries. Um -- oh -- no, I do know! ... no I don't, I thought I had the picture you based this off of. I'm a bad fangirl.

Anyway, brilliant job. Hurrah for original!John fanart!

Spooky, because I was checking out your gallery, whilst re-reading a Hellblazer fic I'd written (yeah, I'm sad, I know, but I couldn't remember what I'd written), and then there was this picture. I looooooove it! And it's so much better than my HB fanart!

Keep up the great work!

The comic book version is the only real version, amen. I can't hate the movie, though, because of the Tilda Swinton.

Your whole gallery is amazing, and you like a lot of the same stuff I do. Yay!

Tilda Swinton is really hard to dislike, I agree. I would've watched the movie for her alone.

yay i'm so glad to see this. the movie was good i thought, but not nearly up to constantine standards. and keanu reeves was just the wrong guy for the job period.

Brilliantly done! I adore this picture and all of your talent and artistic skills. I don't know this character; however, I love this picture! It reminds me of a Humphrey Bogart pose from Casablanca. I really must say - your attention to detail is absolutely delightful! (^_^) That strong nose, soft eyelashes and the brow of his right eye. *sighs* Kissable lips and, oh, those dimples! Gorgeous! So vibrant and alive; yet so mature and aged! 'Play it again, Linn' - you do it so well! Thanks for another !

Man, whoever said this looks like Keanu Reeves is a dumb-ass. This looks nothing like him! >:F He looks wonderful and beautiful and since I can't, for the life of me, guess who you used as a reference, I'm just going to stare in glee over the originality of his character design.

I love the textures. And the light; it absolutely makes it come alive.

He does have a bit of... you-know-who... ness, although it's hard to pin down--maybe something about the eyes, or nose?--and the more I look at it, the less he looks like... you know.

Now I almost feel like I was imagining it. Um.

I only recently got ahold of Highwater, so I'll have to pass on the image-guessing. (Not because of That Movie! Because of Sandman and Books of Magic. Ever since I saw him in those, I'd been meaning to get 'his' comics. Which was before the movie came out.)
