Description
UPDATE 2/20/17: Gonna be trying to get all the profiles re-hashed once again. Starting with my classic bebe Liz. Got an unshaded Liz on the left and a glowy Liz with ghost tail on the right. The color dots are (top, left to right) eyes, skin, hair/bangs, and (middle) clothes, but the bottom two are what I use for glow effects; the one on the left is for her powers/eyes/clothes (which only glow when she's channeling a lot of power and/or emotions), and then the lighter one on the right is for her normal ghostly aura glow.
Profile hasn't changed much except for some details. It's kind of long still - oops.

Powers/Abilities
Ghosts come with a basic array of powers, as well as a specialized power that’s based on the type of core they possess.
Intangibility – Liz technically has no body, meaning that she really doesn’t have body mass or density. Therefore she can effortlessly float through walls, floors, ceilings, and doors, no matter how thick they are. Because this intangibility is inherent, Liz has to concentrate to remain tangible to the living world. She eventually trains herself to be able to maintain tangibility without too much conscious thought after a few years, but she still slips into intangibility when startled or injured as a self-defense mechanism. She can push intangibility onto others, but it gets harder to maintain the bigger the object/person she’s holding.
Flight – this sort of goes hand in hand with intangibility. Because she has no physical mass, there is basically nothing for gravity to act on, meaning Liz can float around however she pleases. Breezes also don’t affect her that much for this reason, though if she’s maintaining tangibility they do start to have an affect. However, even when tangible Liz can still fly, because she’s still dead and therefore still technically not affected by the laws of gravity.
Ghost tail – a side effect of flight, her legs naturally merge into a tail-like structure when floating or flying. It lets her fly at faster speeds. It’s also naturally intangible, and even though she's tried she can't seem to make it tangible.
Limited shapeshifting/appearance altering abilities – goes hand in hand with the ghost tail. Liz can force her legs to form a ghost tail if she wants, though again it can form naturally when she's flying or just not paying attention - most of the time she actually has to concentrate to get her legs back. If she really focuses, she can also make her clothes appear to be more casual, such as jeans and a T-shirt, and if she really pushes it she can shift her hair to brown and her eyes to blue, mimicking her old human appearance. She doesn’t enjoy doing that and can’t maintain it for long, however; in fact, she later loses this ability to mimic her human appearance and alter her clothes drastically, as it relates to a ghost's ability to remember who they were before their death. She does, however, manage to figure out how to change her hair style without too much difficulty - after several years she gets her hair 'cut' and keeps it this way for quite a long while.
This also ties into the ability to regenerate and quickly heal any wounds she may get during battle.
Invisibility – Part of the reason for invisibility and intangibility is that ghosts inherently exist in a separate dimension from the living, hence why it can take enormous effort for a ghost to maintain a presence in the physical world. When Liz slips into intangibility she'll also become invisible from the living, unless they have infrared vision (and even then she's still hard to see) or those paranormal ghost cameras. This comes in handy when she has to sneak in and out of places. Like intangibility she can force this onto other objects or people, but it's difficult to maintain for long periods of time.
Possession – kind of goes along with intangibility. When they are intangible ghosts are able to possess the living, but they have to have a strong intention and be able to overwhelm the psyche of the possessed. Liz doesn't do this often because she doesn't really like possessing people - it makes her feel creepy, as she feels it's an invasion of privacy. When possessing someone she has access to the majority of recent memories, but if she really tries to go digging she can sometimes get more information - or she'll just force herself out of the person's body.
Enhanced strength – probably due to the fact that she really doesn't exist in the living world and laws like gravity don't effect her unless she wants them to, Liz can pick up stuff that would be way to heavy for her if she was still a human. It comes in handy when needing to fly groups of 2-4 people away from danger or to a fight.
Electricity generation – this power is related to Liz’s electric ghost core. Liz is able to send electricity through her body. This includes making a type of static shock across her entire body, to concentrating it into bolts of electricity she can shoot from her hand or fingers. She can touch a surface and send an electric shock through it while also maintaining control of the electricity – so, if she and her teammates are on a metal platform facing a bunch of goons, Liz could put a hand on the floor and send out electricity that shocks the goons but leaves her teammates unaffected. She can also concentrate her electricity into a relatively strong shield, though it takes a lot of concentration to create and maintain (she gets better at it with time and practice though). She can absorb electricity from outlets and generators and such too, and either store it in her core or immediately redirect it. Storing energy can help her get back on her feet if she's feeling weak from using too much energy after a fight, because while she constantly generates her own electricity it still has its limits.
Universal immunity – Liz is dead and can easily slip into another dimension so she's really not subject to laws like breathing, or extreme temperatures, or dangerous radiation. She can't get sick either. She can't be injured by PHYSICAL means, although there are some ectoplasm-based weapons that could hurt her, and she could easily overwork herself if she doesn't pay attention to how much energy she has left. She also tends to be immune to things that could cancel out powers, or people who can copy powers, because she’s dead and since all of her powers stem from being dead – well, unless someone can bring her back to life, or unless they want to die to gain her powers, Liz gets to enjoy a “get out of jail free” card. (This is not a guarantee, however; for example, someone might be able to mess with her ability to control her powers, like making her electricity short out on her or causing her to lose her ability to maintain tangibility.)
Personality
Personality type: ENFP-T (Campaigner)
Friendly – Liz is just overall a friendly person. She likes to try and make friends with everyone, sometimes to the point where she becomes a people pleaser in order to try and get someone to like her. She’s very talkative and eager to learn more about others, but she also tends to be a great shoulder to cry on when someone needs to unload some emotional baggage because she’s been there, so she won’t judge and she won’t tell.
Extrovert/Outgoing – she wears her heart on her sleeve, she loves to engage people, and she’s all around very bubbly and enthusiastic. She likes to share her interests with anyone willing to listen. Even when she’s not being outgoing and talking to others, she just likes to be around or near people – it comforts her.
Creative – she likes to come up with new solutions to problems, and all in all has a big imagination that helps with creating new ideas for pretty much anything. She’s also pretty hands-on when it comes to stuff like this, preferring to draw or write things out herself instead of trying to explain it verbally to others.
Emotional – kind of always was a drama queen but it also stems from ghost-amplified emotions. Some things she’s fine, other little things can set her off into a sobbing disaster or an explosive rage. It makes her prone to emotional manipulation, while also making her a bit of a loose cannon and unpredictable in fights where sensitive subjects are brought up as bait.
Determined – she might not know what she’s doing all the time but she’ll try her hardest to get it done! She also takes great pride in completing work or projects that she struggled with. She often refuses to give up (to the point where determination becomes stubbornness, sometimes) and will always try and figure out a way to complete a difficult project, or save everyone who is in danger.
Optimistic - Liz tends to look on the bright side of things (partly because that's who she was before dying, but partly because if she loses her optimism, she starts to slip down a dangerous slope)
Overprotective - she will literally put herself in front of bullets to save people she doesn't even know. Given that she's a ghost, she doesn't see this as a problem, but she runs the risk of encountering ectoplasm-based weapons that could harm her if people are used as bait.
Liz technically also has a ghostly obsession, which she thinks is protecting others, but she's not 100% sure what it is. Obsessions usually influence a ghost's actions or personality, which again would explain the overprotectiveness. If a ghost can fulfill their obsession peacefully, they can move on without much of a struggle.
(Waaaay later, after the original team has grown old and passed away and Liz is alone (bar a few other long-lived, immortal, or ghost friends), Liz loses a lot of her extroverted and optimistic personality, and starts down a slippery slope of depression. She'll put on a smile and laugh for the sake of the kids, and their kids, and then their kids...but it all gets old, after a while, and Liz gets so, so tired...)
Weaknesses/Fears
Her overprotectiveness can get her into serious trouble sometimes, as mentioned above. There are certain people she’s more attached to than others – Violet, for example – so in those instances especially Liz tends to lose all common sense and lets her instincts take over. This recklessness often has serious consequences if she loses track of her surroundings, forgets about civilian bystanders, or doesn't pay attention to ectoplasmic weapons that could capture or hurt her.
She also tends to be really cocky when she’s in a good mood, because she knows she can’t really be killed again. She also tends to flaunt this fact in people’s faces, which can backfire if they're packing ectoplasmic weapons, or have some type of powers that affect ghosts (especially with other ghosts - she gets way too cocky and older ghosts often kick her ass as a result).
Physically, Liz is immune to being physically injured or killed, but that won't stop her from remaining tangible if someone is trying to stab/shoot someone else and she doesn't have time to throw up a shield. Usually she's fine, but if she's already been fighting and is low on energy or the weapon is laced with ectoplasm or related toxins, it can seriously hurt Liz to the point where she'll start bleeding out her own ectoplasm. This is dangerous if Liz can't get to a safe place to regenerate, although she is usually able to just fade away and regenerate while intangible. She's still vulnerable to further damage and often looks for lighting storms or power facilities where she can regain power to speed up the healing process.
Ghosts also have unstable emotions. This is especially linked to negative emotions; any variations of anger or even sadness can send Liz flying off an emotional cliff, especially in her early days. In some cases this makes her easy to manipulate – in others, it means Liz becomes a danger to everyone. She can fly into a rage where she no longer cares, she just tries to take out the perceived threat and anyone associated with or in the way of said threat. The anger and sadness tend to be linked; if something reminds her of her parents, for example, she will dissolve into a sobbing mess, and threatening her friends will result in an attempt to destroy said person threatening her friends. She gets a little better with it, eventually, mostly due to years of learning to control herself and compartmentalize, but even that's not always useful as bottling up her emotions just causes a larger outlash later (though at least these she manages to have in private, usually).
Mentioning her parents or her death are sore spots for Liz, and in the wrong setting can cause her to explode into one of her rages. After a long, long while though, it all becomes kind of...numb (she loses so many people) but she'll still lash out if someone nags or taunts her about it.
She is terrified of insects and arachnids, despite the fact that she is dead and still a LOT bigger than bugs. She freaks out when she sees them, can’t even use her powers to kill the things, and will start to scream if one touches her. She gets kind of better with this as the years pass, to the point where she won't flinch at every bug that passes and she'll cool with spiders eating other bugs on the opposite side of the room but she doesn't want them touching her, thanks.
History
Liz lived a normal, quiet life with her family. She was getting ready to go tour colleges and just have a fun summer road trip with her parents, when things went very wrong. A drunk driver in a pickup truck slammed into their smaller car, and caused it to spin out and smash into a tree off the road. Of course the drunk driver lived, and was arrested for DUI and manslaughter, but none of the Turner family survived. Keith and Diane had died on the scene, and while paramedics had hoped to be able to save Liz, they couldn’t stop the internal bleeding and she passed away.
Or, well, she was supposed to. In fact, Liz woke up, shocked and terrified to find that she was dead, and so were her parents. After searching for them and finding nothing, Liz began to break down, fearing that she would spend the rest of eternity as a lost ghost, unable to interact with the world. Luckily, Liz’s new ghost core stabilized and she began to develop control over her basic ghost powers, allowing her to interact with the world again. As she began to understand her powers, she decided to use her second chance to help people in need and try to prevent any more needless death. She encountered and befriended the gargoyle Violet, and together they joined the ranks of Honorary Teen Titans.
Fun Facts
Liz is and has always identified as asexual. She also identifies as aromantic, though part of that is due to not wanting to start a relationship with a human who might die and she’ll never see again.
Her blood type is (or was) AB-. Now, however, she doesn’t have a physical body; she has a pseudo-heart called a ghost core that stabilizes her and acts as the source of her powers, and it also serves to pump ectoplasm (ghost blood) throughout her body.
Liz doesn’t need to eat, sleep, or breathe (she’s dead, why would she?), but she’ll suck in gasps of air or hold her breath when startled or worried or something. She also likes to nibble on chips, cookies, and chocolate when she’s really bored, and she’ll occasionally nap but it’s never for more than 2 hours or so. None of this actually does anything for her, they're just old habits that she doesn't really want to give up.
She is quite artistic, and loves to sing and play instruments. Her favorite instrument is the guitar, but she’s also decent at the piano and the electric bass. She’s got a decent singing voice too; she wanted to get voice lessons for a long time, but it just never happened. She also enjoys doodling and she’s okay at it, but as Liz likes to say, she’s no Picasso.

Thank you for the offer but that's not necessary, Liz isn't associated with Marvel at all and I'm fine with keeping it that way.

Ahhh, I'm freaking LOVING the design on her new outfit! X) Especially the way the bolts criss-cross over her back-- very clever, and very unique. 8D And the new/clarified personality, obsession, and weaknesses - ohboy, SO much potential in that...!
Is there any significance behind her choker? Usually (in lore and stories, anyways) whenever someone takes something with them to the afterlife, it's because it had some serious value to them... 8O
Also, the aro+Ace representation is AMAZING to see around here~ ^^

oH YEAH I FORGOT ABOUT THAT WHOOPS
So, Liz's choker was the last gift she got from her parents. Her birthday was about a month before they left on their trip, and she had been wearing the choker pretty much every day since she got it. It was custom-made, too; Liz's favorite thing at the time was thunderstorms (the lightning bolt), and her parents thought that the yin-yang symbol could help Liz find inner balance whenever she was stressed or going through some turmoil. It wasn't something Liz really looked into, significance-wise, at the time she received the gift; she was always a laid-back and happy person, and was handling school just fine. But in death, it became so important to her - not only because it helped keep her connected to her parents, but because she finally understood the symbolism, and she clung to that - to the importance of finding balance between the new friends she made, and wanting to move on and be at peace.
(Basically Liz's necklace is SUPER FREAKING IMPORTANT to her because its all she has left of her family, while also reminding her to keep a balance between being bound to the earth and chasing her obsession, and being able to make friends and not have to worry but being able to move on and join them, someday...)
And just - thanks for the comment!! I'm glad you like the design - with the old one, I was always thinking, 'what's on the back of her outfit? I know you can't see it because of the hair, but still.' So, tada!
(To be honest, I'm thinking about updating some of the info again - I'll probably end up putting the bit about her choker in there too. Mainly, I want to start going into more ghost biology - how they work, how they form, etc. Or maybe I'll do a separate thing for that, I haven't decided yet.)
