Description full title: Thermonuclear Sunset for modern art-critics

oil on canvas

100x100cm

a exploding art-critic ....

for my love of romantic paintings (its partly inspired by the works of Hudson river painter Frederic Church)... and my annoyance of the views of modern artcritics...

this painting took over 6 months or more to paint and its not because Im slow its just that its been changed/reworked several times... this current and last stage took mayby 2 weeks or so to paint, its has consuming alot of energy from my last paintings, making them abit constrained and dark... this ones been a battlefield but I think I won the fight

Absolutely wonderful! Not often do I stumble upon a traditional artwork like this, so it's a big treat to see this one! 'd!

Yes!

I can really see the tension and agression in this one. You've definately hit something here.

From my experience, the best paintings are those you've painted over at least 3 or 4 times over the years you've forced yourself to stare at them.

Your work is so visceral that any attempt at explaining exactly why I like it would only sound contrived and pretentious, but this piece really is great!

Thank You sounding contrived and pretentious, isnt allwas bad its fun to hear what ppl see or think, what they think something symbolises they are seldom correct but its more of an view into their mind

thank you  the title adds alot to the painting, I got the Idea after 2weeks of painting on it, at first the painting was very serious then the Idea turn on a to a more comical path adding an exploding guy. then I saw a youtube clip of a Atombomb which sort of looked like the sunset in the painting and I thought hey! its a bomb not a sunset

Love the colors, this painting has brighter feeling than the others, which are usually darker. I like!!
