I really love how this shot turned out. My friend June is such a great photographer, she really helped me out with this.
The campus of that high school really has some awesome locations for these kinds of cosplays. 
So, yeah, I'm still wigless, and the details are not finished yet, but it still looks pretty good, and I got TONS of comments!

This is an amazing photo, you look staggering!
The only (extremely minor) thing I can say, is not to lock your elbows. Turn your hands a little more towards the rest of your body to avoid the (somewhat) awkward "<" shape.

Yes, it definitely is. Half the time I don't even know what pose to do, especially when I'm doing an original design, as opposed to a character.

The only tip I can give is to start from your "normal" pose. If you need to do a sitting shoot, just sit down and then start thinking. If the photographer is good, (s)he usually does the thinking. Try to view yourself from the camera's angle (or let the photographer make an image of you and watch the snapshot) and then compare it to images of other (professional) models. How do they tilt their head? How would they keep their shoulders in the shoot (down = tranquil, up = protective)? Are their legs hunched together, or more spread out/forming lines? Is their back curved (relaxed, low-confidence) or straight (force, ambition)? Where are the arms? Are they in front of the body (closed=unwelcoming/provoking), or besides it (open=welcoming/challenging(friendly)). etc...

Yes, with my older costume shoots that's basically how I did it. I usually had like 5 poses in mind for just one particular costume, then if I thought of any on the spot I'd just do them. It's interesting, I actually understand everything you are saying because I've tried all that, I just need some more practice. Now that I'm getting into actual characters, I'm going to pay alot more attention to posing and whatnot. Thank you so much again for the helpful critique, I really appreciate it!
