RNCThis picture is not "ah, yet another thing that proves that the Republicans think they are God's party and do God's work...". This picture is of a homeless man who has been holding the sign for so long that the sides are worn and tattered. I saw him for 4 days in a row, with this sign and others that said the exact same thing. The sign projects the message he deems most likely to obtain his desired ends. I spoke with him and offered him a handout. His interest in speaking with me ended once he obtained his desired end. He could have put anything on his sign. Who else commands more in donations than does Jesus? Its not a message, its a business model.

you couldnt keep God out of anything if you tried. Were supposed to keep RELIGION out of politics... ,but hopefully morals will still play a role in any decisions--just without promoting or being biased in favor of one religion

that's kinda the idea, but if you look at most Republicans, they seem to think that their God is the only one and claim that this is a Christian nation, which it's not, it's the melting pot! morals and religion are two very different things, this most recent administration is a prime example, the Bush administration claimed that Torture was okay, even though WE DO NOT TORTURE! he also claimed that God wanted to to be president, bring freedom to the Afghanistan and it's people and end Saddam Hossein's reign of terror...but..god never told me to do anything, so I'd say he's full of shit...

yea, i wasnt siding with the republican party... but Christianity is the only way to get to Heaven--not the religion, the relationship we have with the Father... not sure if i care if our enemies are tortured... i mean in a war they are killed anyway--might as well get some info first

well, there I disagree with you, I don't believe that's true, and I don't honestly believe in a Heaven or Hell, or anything like that, it doesn't make sense to me, and as for torture, it just doesn't seem right for us to claim to be the good guys if we torture them and sink to their level.

no, and I learned a long time ago not to care what others think of me, I'd do the same thing, but torturing people is not the answer, and this war was pointless, at least when we invaded Afghanistan we were looking for the organization that organized the attack on 9/11, the Iraq War was pointless, it was about oil and it got us into this mess, now look at us, we are just NOW starting to get out of Iraq, but things are worse than ever in Afghanistan, I just think that if we can avoid going to war we should, and we need to accept that we cannot police the world, after all, it didn't work in Vietnam, what makes you think it would work now?

what have you asked for that he hasnt answered or given?.. your life and his offer of salvation are already above and beyond what we deserve... im assuming you are talking about personal experience... and if you laugh at him and put him down, why would he help you more or act on your behalf..

first of all, I'm kind of a spiritual agnostic who doesn't believe in your so called God, and most of the religious people I've ever met have either tried to force God on me or looked down on me for it, I never once asked Jesus for anything because I don't have imaginary friends, I earn what I get and deserve whatever I get, I don't want to step on your beliefs but honestly, do you truly believe that there is an invisible man up in the sky who controls everything and is always watching you? and that if you don't live by the code of some fantasy book that a bunch of manipulative and greedy men wrote, you'll go to a burning horrible place that will make you suffer for all eternity, and yet he loves you? I'm sorry but I cannot accept something that has absolutely no proof or claims to back it up, I'm just to much of a rational thinker, now please, stop claiming that Jesus gives me shit of loves me or anything else, frankly I just don't give a crap, and don't respond with some argument telling me that I'm wrong or a jerk for expressing my beliefs, I don't go around telling Christians that they are wrong, I simply tell them that I can't accept that at face value and need a little more evidence, otherwise I'm just gonna continue to preach the gospel of "I don't know" and tell you that you are amazingly arrogant to claim that you know what's truly out there, now I apologize to anyone I might have offended, including you, the last think I want is to hurt any bodies feelings.

well, you asked me some questions.. so i'll at least respond to them... i dont think he's invisible--a spirit sure, and no, i dont think he's 'up' .... i'd say its (this is gonna sound a little corny) another dimesion, or just a spirit world... God isnt a physical being, so he's not limited...
these greedy guys youre talking about gave up their lives--sometimes literally--to preach on behalf of Christ... Im not sure if youve read the Bible, but all scripture is God breathed, which means that either God spoke to them or gave them a dream... i dont know all the facts, honeslty, i dont have all or even most of the answers... for me its just praying and asking Him to make me a better, kinder person... and i cant explain all the changes, but He is there... despite a lack of a multitdue of websites and encyclopedias... i cant deny my Saviour..

well, you are entitled to your opinion like I said and how you understand God...but...I think you might be onto something honestly, but whatever, and as for hurting people's feelings being illegal, no it's not, but, it might as well be, if I say anything that might..MIGHT offend somebody they can sue me, so sadly I have to be careful about voicing my opinion, I'm not prejudice but some people will accuse me of being such just for saying something they don't like.

i feel for you, man.... it sucks, but we all have to act like were walking on eggshells now, ya know?..... it seems weve lost our freedom of speech... i mean, i bet you and I could get along realy well... until we mention our politics, points-of-views, and beliefs... i can understand where youre coming from in not believing in God--most of friends dont, and alot of the girls ive dated dont either... but im not you, and vise versa.... all this talk of beliefs does is seperate us and bring out the ugly side in everyone.... if there was ever something to hate, itd be politics

well, I get over it rather than letting it get to me, and I'm open minded enough to accept that you won't agree with everything I do, but I think we are both civil enough to just agree to disagree and try to be friends! and you misunderstand me, I am no atheist...I just don't buy the Christian God, or any God that was created in this world, I think that there may be a God of some sort but, I honestly don't know, and I'll continue to not know until I get there, at which point I will concern myself with it, it's just a bridge I'll cross when I get there.
